What mod do i need ? and where to get it ? a dev console would do the job right ? but those prices are to high for just testing/playing those saturn proto's
You boot prototypes on the Saturn using a system disc - it's not necessary to use a development console (and, in fact, a development console without a system disc won't boot CD-Rs anyway, just like a retail). If you don't have a system disc (or the right system disc, since there are two - one for Sega developed titles and the other for 3rd party titles). then you can use any other method that will let you boot CD-Rs on a Saturn. If you have a spare Action Replay you don't mind reflashing look at the "Pseudo Saturn" thread - although this will still require you to use the swap trick once to get the cart flashed.
oke cool thanks! then i need that developers disc 3th party version Titels are: The Last Dynasty by Sierra, Tennis saturn Tunnel B1 Tunnel B1 Euro version Beside Tennis saturn that disc would play all of these right ?
i tryed that, but the one i have/borrowed still didnt play it. the do work, have seen them play but on a specialy modded saturn from the original owner
dont know what the problem whas, i tryed all regions ntsc pal and jap. it did see the music that is on the disc. i am shure the will work becuase the worked at the original owner i have seen it, his saturn is specialy modded some how not the normal mod as i already tryed. i found a disc that should work like a softmod, the used this at magazinbes to play proto's. once it in in will try should work i geus didnt made back ups jet, should do that soon.
will try the disk i am getting first then will check for a mod chip. btw did tryed a action replay to but didnt work
It's pretty much guaranteed that that softmod/boot disc you mention (which is most likely one of the system discs) won't work without a modchip, flashed AR, or doing the swap trick. ...unless you found a real, physical one, in which case: good catch! (Unlikely though.) In any case, region patching never hurts, give that a try some time. If all you want is to occasionally run a proto, the swap trick would probably be sufficient imho. It's not that hard and/or annoying, really, once you get the hang of it.
