Switching Pin 23 will only change the encoding but not 50/60Hz! An of course, if I talk about the PAL60 or anything else, I only mean the compisite video signal. I know that the RGB are the pure color channels ;)

@Breaking: As I understood it right, the user "Guest" even doesn't know really. The link was just a quick example. I know that user saturnu have written it in the circuit-board that he/she knows it for sure! However: I think we can agree that the best option is to have a NTSC console to switch between 50Hz and 60Hz by using either the PAL console or the NTSC console :D

No, not quite. That design is based off of Tim's earlier work from back in 2008. Much like the 3do RGB mod offered by them, it's based off of someone else's design.

Ok, interesting, however, I can confirm it works. I have a UK PAL N64 console I used the Otakus board, and it provides quality RGB output, which is what matters.

That is impressive, however in the UK we could probably get just as good with the RGB mod and using a SCART port (if you have reasonable modding skills).

Not without a decent scaler you wouldn't. If you're not using a CRT though you'll probably already have a decent scaler if you care even slightly about how your image looks on your display, although this can vary wildly based on the quality of in display scalers. I recall Yakumo's Japanese Toshiba unit scaling his Saturn nicely.

It might scale still images nicely, but once things start moving around, all kinds of hell will be introduced by the TV. Incorrect deinterlacing, and lag are the most obvious problems when connecting a 240p source directly to a modern TV. But Yakumo uses a Framemeister now :)
