There is numerous tools to convert from debug to retail, but what about retail to debug?

For example I have a debug xbox console which will only play .xbe files signed for dev use...I'm attempting to play the Halo 2 Alpha with no luck at all.

If anyone could point me in the direction for a good tool to do this I would greatly appreciate it

I've never been able to get it converted properly either. if someone knows how please post below. The best way I have found is using Retail Game Loader v1.20. You can download it here: https://digiex.net/attachments/retail-game-loader-v1-20-rar.13942/
Simply copy the xbe over to the devkit/debug and the H2 Beta.
Launch RGL and the screen will go black for a few seconds and return you to the dash. Then click the H2B xbe and it should play.

I did it years ago to patch avalaunch and unleashx for debug, so I could use them to ftp data off a few debugs easily.

Don't remember the tools, but it wasn't complicated. I will have a look once Xmas is done.

I have a debug ftp disc that I use, at least one Avalaunch version doesn't need to be patched

Ive remembered the tool - dexbe.

Open the xbe in that tool change to dev, then build a new ISO (or copy to HDD in your case)

And if I wanted to go the other way--I have some xbe files designed to run on dev kits that I'd like to run on retail--what's the best tool or method for that? I wasn't able to find a clear answer in my search. Maybe I used bad search terms.

They will work fine on a modded system without patching, assuming it doesn't need extra ram

Anyone know why dexbe v0.5 (fixed) doesn't seem to be working for me? I'm trying to patch UnleashX for my debug kit, but it isn't working. I still have to use Retail Game Loader v1.20.

What I'm doing is launching dexbe, opening unleashx.xbe and then selecting File>Patch to Debug Version, then clicking on Patch, then File>Save. After doing this, if I relaunch dexbe and open unleashx.xbe again, it does show up as a debug xbe, so it should be working, but trying to launch it on the debug kit without first using Retail Game Loader always results in an error.
