    johnace,

Did you go see a doctor yet? I was wondering what he/she said about your back. :/

This happened to me this year. In the end it was a pulled muscle in my back. It would spasm and all I could do was lie there or hobble about like a little old man. Rest healed it and I took some over the counter muscle relaxants and some standard pain killers.

A Doctor always helps - even if only to get an opinion. Go see a physiotherapist.
Tell him about your usual posture, that was very important for me. It solved many problems (albeit I still have more), posture might seem something minimal but when you are sitting 12 hours a day, your back is your best asset. Keep an eye on it, then add an extra eye.

Anybody with experience in this. I need your help.

My bed is badly bent from my weight (14 stone but a bed should be built to hold that right?) It's sunk pretty badly (I took a pic). I intend to get a good bedframe (perhaps bunk beds, those have NEVER bent on me) or even a real divanne bed soon enough.

but for the time being I'm getting shitty sleep as I just cant get comfy. No spasming/actual pain at the moment but I figure the bent bed cant be helping.

Is sleeping with mattress directly on floor going to be better or worse? I intend to have: Mattress on floor, with a sheet on that and then sleep on it with a duvet over me.

Heres a pic with a picture frame to illustrate how badly bent this is.

You have enough cash to get a new bed frame?

Sore backs are one of the worst things, I'm 19 years old and I get back pains.
I'm always being told by doctors it's the way I'm sitting at my desk, since I'm always on the computer I tend to slouch.

I bought a new chair and the pain went away over time.. Is the chair you use at your desk or when you play games suitable for you back?

I currently sleep with two mattresses directly on the floor, and I've had no problems over the past few years. I actually prefer sleeping without a frame, since I've done it for so long.

I wouldn't worry about it, you'll be fine.

It's not so easy for some people with certain metabolisms

Hopefully. I'd like to get bunk beds soon, those were the comfiest beds I ever had.

I'd like to but it's really not that simple. I've sat at 14 stone for years now and nothing changes it. I've tried working out with treadmills and such reguarly but that didn't shift it at all. At the same time I can be inactive for days and still sit at 14 stone.

thanks for the info, I slept without a frame last night and it was far comfier.

My mother was the same way (and even approximately the same weight as you), but lost a lot of weight after eating only once a day.

since he mentioned the word "curve" up there, im pretty sure its scoliosis induced back pain.. in which being the main cause..

but of course yes, we all hope not MS..

Yoga helps a lot for scolio patients, so is losing weight and not subjecting ur back to weights/pressure..

It's fairly simple to burn fat. Burn more calories than you consume.
