I don't like fighting games, or so I'm told

So yeah, it seems I pissed someone off... I think? Did anyone else get a PM about a week ago from someone called Dudemanfakeguy bitching about terrible we are for not liking fighting games enough?

Normally I don't post private messages, but for this case I think I'll make an exception. It's um, interesting. (Note the bolded part)

Huh. At first I figured it was spam, but then a quick google search turned up this post I made back in December 2011.

The fuck? That one line pissed someone off so much they felt the need to make a fake account just to rant to me about how I need to play more fighting games? That's both amusing and disturbing.

Am I the only person who got that message? Is it just a funny coincidence that an old post I made matches up with what appears to be spam, or did someone really just get pissed off over something so trivial?

Oddly I find that I play fighters a lot less lately I'll get one play it for a few days then put it back on my shelf after I get a half dozen achievements/Trophies. exceptions being DOA 5 and Tekken Tag 2.

But I guess I have shit taste right?

 

Some people needs help, quite amazing that some people reach that sort of level.

 

Guess I'm a " stupid-ass shit stain on the gaming community" then since I can't be arsed with the complexity of fighting games these days. That's not to say I don't play them but I don't master them either. I've got better things to do many many games to play.

Some people are just sad.

 

Nothing is more discouraging than getting a fighting game hopping on line and getting your ass handed to you in such a broken manor. *glares at Arcana heart 3*

 

I'm not much of a fan of fighting games either, at least the traditional kind that involves having to learn button combinations. Makes it take longer to get into the game, and you have to do it all over again if you want to play a new character. This why I like Smash Bros, the combos are simple and they're the same for all characters.

 

I like Arcana Heart 3 don't get me wrong, but GOOD LORD learning it is harder than earning a PhD

 

prefer local multi player with fighting games, its where the most fun is, you can look into you're victims eyes after pummeling 7 different shades of crap out of them, and it's always good with a nice "Humiliation/Flawless Victory"

 

Uhh...yeah because...you know, kirby can do fox's DAir, L-cancel, shine,wavedash to USmash... oh wait. no he can't.

o_o the combos are NOT the same for all characters...hell the movesets aren't even similar (link vs fox have no similar moves... Fox's DAir is a drill kick, Link has a sword spike. DB on Link has a bomb, Fox has a shine)

 

So nobody else received that message? It really was meant for me personally? Seriously?

I've stated how much I hate modern anime and JRPG tropes, and nothing. I've made it clear how much I despise Sony and there fanboys even more so, still nothing. I've said so much shit before that could possibly upset someone, and that is the statement that pissed someone off to the point of an anonymous PM ranting?

I'm not even mad or anything, I'm just dumbfounded.

 

Ha welcome to the internet . Seriously, nothing surprises me anymore, I had a troll for a couple years follow me into youtube Facebook groups, make sock accounts on youtube, death threats, threats to get my accounts removed (yeah never happened lol) and even download and edit then re-upload MY videos in attempts to make me look bad (problem was I never game them much to work with) put simply they are trolls, people with too much time, no life and nothing better to do then put every minute of their waking moment trying to bait you, lure you, get a response. It is all pathetic and sad really. Oh and the only answer I got to all this behavior is apparently sometime, somewhere I made a comment he did not agree with.

 

I think that's the WHOLE motivation behind GOOD fighting games.

But yeah, if you don't like it, better go along with something dfferent then. Same would go for me with f.e. sports games :wink-new:

"Trolls" have always pissed me off. Only as I grow older does it become more easy to laugh off, & at the age of 22 I am still at the point where I always want to slam their argument to the ground with an intelligent yet also seemingly trollish response in reply. I find being the better asshole deals nicely with them, then cut communication. I know, I am not intelligent enough yet to just ignore. I just hope to get through to people in a variety of different ways ;]

 

Seems like a strange thing to get ridiculously upset about. I guess maybe it's some kind of joke? If it's a joke, it still doesn't quite make sense as to why this person is targeting you specifically.

What I meant was the button combos are the same. A+direction or B+direction

 

uh L canceling is part of the design of the game. It isn't a "glitch"

and even then, fox down B is nothing like samus down B or links down b...or kirby's down b...
