I think that might be a good deal if it is sealed.

Well assuming its japanese (as the name suggests) you might want to be careful with regards to the sealed bit. Afaik jp md games weren't ever sealed in the traditional sense of a shrink wrap type affair. If its a sega sticker along the opening edge then maybe..but tbh with jp md games I think it is a bit of a gamble paying for sealed copies.

As an aside i know someone who bought a sealed Ooze, jp so pricey. It came in a shrinkwrap type seal. Anyway it got opened and was far from new..just a shop reseal. Be careful. In general in my experience the best you find is games that have never been used (look to the cart..its clear if its been inserted even once by the most delicate of touches), so new in that sense, but not actually sealed, like say a ss or pce game.

    Hope that helps.

Edit..and even then $45+postage might be too much anyway. I have bought never used (see above) Bare Knuckle 3's for less, and BK3 is considered the rarest of the 3 BK games.

yes, the rarest...and the best, imo. the gameplay is more open and complete, especially with a 6 bouton pad. go for it i say.

No way, 2 is much better, imo of course:). 3, well just doesn't sound right when you're laying the smackdown, dodgy effects that seem a shade intermittent.

Also I'm not sure which one Strider is referring to...if its Bare Knuckle then $45 is way too much even for a new copy. BK3 sure:)

$45 is ridiculously steep. And a little punctuation wouldn't hurt, no?

Oh yeah. The "music" in BK2 is just amaaazing (I don't like most of the compositions, but from a technical point of view, and it does set that wonderful 90's club mood ;)).

I would think in this pricerange:

    Bare Knuckle - ca. $20

Bare Knuckle II - ca. $30-40

Bare Knuckle III - ca. $50-60

IMO, BK2 is the best in terms of gameplay. BK3 is really more interesting as a collectible.

Also, afaik the only Megadrive/Genesis games that were shrinkwrapped were the American games that came in a cardboard box (such as Ishido or 2nd edition Castlevania).
Late PAL games such as Alien Soldier were sealed with a Sega sticker along the opening. I'm not sure if any Japanese games ever had this sticker.

Yes it does. Not as pricy as the JPN version either, but misses the essential title screen text message (visualshock! soundshock! speedshock! now is the time to the 68000 heart on fire).

I think the PAL Alien Soldier is also missing the cut scene after the train level, and of course it only runs at 50Hz. Now who'd wanna play that!? :p

    @liquitt

Halt mal auf ebay.de Ausschau. PAL Alien Soldier ist da oft für 35,- Euro zu haben. Wesentlich billiger sogar als in UK und USA.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't want anything with that version. But wasn't it PAL-optimized still? :)

It's from Gynoug (aka Wings of Wor). A shoot 'em up by NCS Masaya for the Mega Drive. A very underrated one too, play past the first four stages and you'll see. ;)
