If there's one thing on this Earth, Which I really fucking Hate It's when I'm forced to use Internet explorer 8. It's so stunningly, shitasticlly awful, I want to punch it in the face, and whenever I turn it on, I lose faith in the human race. Why is this buggy piece of shit, such a fucking turd? Why won’t it remember, my fucking passwords? It crashes every five minutes I cannot do any work, If this shit screws up again, I will fucking go berserk I will burn down it's house, in its' eyes, empty a can of mace, then rip out it's intestines and hang them like Christmas decorations all over the fucking place I will throw it out of a moving car, and shoot it in the head, and break it's kneecaps with a baseball bat, Over and over until it's fucking dead Fuck Microsoft and fuck Bill Gates and fuck everyone in the entire world who uses Internet Explorer 8.
Why would you have to use Internet Explorer 8? IE has always been shit. Can you believe that for a long time it was really our only option?
I'm a mac but i know quite a bit about Windows ,disable I.E since you can't remove it because it apart of your o.s , then install Google chrome . I hear so many bad things about all forms of I.E. Just surrender , crap can't become a diamond.
Some companies/educational institutions do some network wizardry and force all computers to use internet explorer and wont let you install anything else. Claims it makes everyhting more secure and to an extent it does, stops idiots installing all kinds of crap and compromising the system. Personally, I'm a firefox man and will remain that way for the foreseeable future. Though according to this rather outdated article, internet explorer is more likely to help you get laid, so maybe there's something to be gained from using I.E. http://www.bbspot.com/news/2005/01/firefox_vs_internet_explorer.html
And those same institutions run 3 different filtering programs. All of which are defeated by basic proxy websites.
But generally the kinds of people who are likely to compromise the whole system by accident think a proxy is a type of mexican food
 Exactly what I was supposed to write. I'm especially impressed by the GPU support. However, not so much by not letting the 64-bit version be the standard browser on your computer.
I have to use it to test changes made to web applications at work. We also test in 7 other different browsers - IE 7, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Ipad, Safari on a Mac (which is different for some reason,) and IE 9. IE 8 literally crashes every single time I turn it on. Hence, the "I cannot do any work" line.
So the only way you could escape it would be if IE 8 disappeared off the face of the planet so everybody stopped using it. Bummer. Well at least you don't need to test in IE 6
It's just a web browser. I honestly dont' know why people get so worked up over software like a web browser. Just use something else if you don't like it.
Actually I do have a machine at work for IE 6 testing also, but thankfully that only comes up once in a while. Yes, I am very particular about the plugins that are installed on the machine. That's what I get paid the big bucks for. Most of the problem comes from the fact that the web apps I test are crappy in the first place, but this piece of shit browser doesn't help. Long story short, Fire Fox and Chrome never ever crash, IE 8 will screw up at least once every single instance I use it. I hate it so much...
IE sucks. Period. IE9 seems to be a bit better, but MS still has a lot to do. Maybe for IE14 or IE15 they'll be able to make a decent browser (thought they'll probably screw it up in some way).
errrghh i hate ie they forced us to use it at college so slow and buggy, we managed to work out how to execute a portable version of chrome from usb stick, bit of tricky with a bat file got round all there security lol
Well what I use it for, is to test web applications, so like I said before I don't have any 3rd party plugins installed on it beyond the minimum - no tool bars, no nothing. So I'm not supposed to "figure out the problem" with functionality that should be inherent in the browser. If I alter the browser in any significant way, then it invalidates my testing. So when I can't get it to do simple shit like remember passwords or open two stupid windows without sharing session information out of the box, then it makes my job a living hell. Chrome or Firefox don't have these problems, is all I'm saying.
