I do this for a living. When I said I am aware of the plugins which are installed, it means I am aware of the plug-ins that are installed. There are no plugins installed, beyond Flash and Java. I keep them up to date. I do not have Java SSV Helper. I keep the browser as "out of the box" as possible. This is my job. I would not complain about it not saving my passwords if all it took to fix was to check a simple box. I checked the stupid box, it still doesn't work. I re-installed IE 8, it doesn't work. I tried registry hacks, it doesn't work. Yes, I backed up the registry first. This is my job. This is what I do for a living. Please stop assuming that I'm just saying this to "look cool." I'm sorry if I offended you by insulting your most favorite of all browsers. It's not my fault this thing is such a piece of shit.
I know how you feel. Although I don't do application development I always have to go to a government website. In my experience I've noticed that government websites, such as USGS, NRCS, etc. LOVE Internet Explorer. They tend to give you problems with Firefox and they just hate Chrome/Opera. So, at work I always use IE for work related searches but for surfing I use Firefox. Everone knows that gopher browsers are where it's at...
