I hate Nintendo!

  1. Hate to nitpick, but that doesn't seem to be true. Both content-wise and graphically, the GC games seem very different.
The Dreamcast games are ports of the PC game. RE2 even used WinCE... and the games were identical to the PC games in terms of both graphics and content.

The GameCube games however seem more like tarted-up PSX ports to me. Content-wise, you have none of the additions seen in the DC/PC games, but the main thing is RE2... you may remember that the lazy conversion process from PC to DC resulted in the backgrounds looking pretty washed and bleached because they bumped-up the resolution while leaving the backgrounds alone. A problem not seen in the GC game.

Not doubting they're basically the same, just doubting the GC one is ported from the DC.

Anyway... eh, running the PAL games on Freeloader should work, the Freeloader actually forces RE2 and 3 to 60Hz o_O

Personally I think Nintendo still makes the best games. Every company rehashes franchises but I think Nintendo and Sega does it the best. I mean christ if you dont like a game then don't buy it. Go and buy Final Fantasy 35.

Are you sure of that? Because as far as I know, the DC REsident Evil 2 did not contain the extreme Battle mode that was present in both the PC version and the PSX Dual Shock Edition.

And on the note of expensive Resident Evils for gamecube, I know what everyone means >_<

At my local GAME they expect me to pay £20 for a Game I already own 4 times >_< (And thats not counting doublers on the same platform, lol. I am such a Biohazard fanboy loser ¬_¬)

    well I looked into and...

    Resident Evil...reworked for GC
    Resident Evil 2..direct PS port
    Residen Evil 3...direct PS port
    Resident Evil Code Veronica..PS2 port

so yeah, these are only for people that never played them on the PS or just want the whole collection on the GC.

  6. Umm.. wouldn't you just be better off getting the original PS1 version instead of import the Pal GC one? I'm not trying to tell you want you should or shouldn't do with your money, but it's the american versions that bring in the bucks, NOT the pal one. It just seems to be to much of a hassle to import a game thats fairly common on another system.

They aren't different at all. They're the same damned game, except $100 more.

I also loved Sonic Spinball. But then again, I also think Pokémon Pinball for the GBC and The Pinball of the Dead are "teh shiznit". I'm a huge video pinball fan so I'll probably pick this up as well. I see nothing wrong with putting out games like this. It's just a bizzare use of the franchise.

Also on the RE topic, I was actually reading up on them and read that RE: CV for GameCube is actually a port of the Japanese Dreamcast release of "Biohazard Code Veronica: Complete" which supposedly has a few extra cutscenes when compared to the Code Veronica X on PS2. I'm guessing the textures are also of Dreamcast quality and not the lower PS2 quality? Can anyone convirm this?

And what IS the deal with the Resident Evils for GC going for so much? I happened to come across one (number 2) at work and snagged it at $20 used.

Bah, nevermind my question about the GC version of Code Veronica... I'm tired and apparently missed the 4 posts in the middleof the first page discussing that. 0.o I think I'll get some sleep now.

The GC ports had poor sales because (A) It's the third port at minimum for them and (B) Capcom had the balls to charge $40.00 for them. I love to see the actual release numbers for them.

I personally think this is some rare anomaly where people perceive it to be rarer than it actually is hence the price increase. I'd love to see the release numbers from Capcom. If any of them are actually rare it'd be RE:CVX. That one came out after 2 and 3 failed on the GC so I'm sure Capcom released fewer of them

well like I said, Resident Evil is the easiest one to find and cheapest besides Zero. That's obviously because they made more of them because of the work they put into it since they remade the original kinda like they did with the MGS remake. Now 2,3, and CVX are all ports with little/no effort put into making them any better. I didnt even know they made those on the GC until I was looking around. Maybe they put those out on a smaller release or something.

I'd be more interested in getting these if they weren't just PS/DC ports.
