Well, so far it seems like a mixed bag. There's quite a wide variety of experiences in this thread. Management and coworkers will make or break this job. The actual work in itself doesn't seem bad at all.

Absolutely. Working with the right people makes a hell of a difference. Sure, you'll probably want to do bigger/better things later on, but it's a job, with a paycheck. Good luck with it, either way.

I'm guessing Graciano is going to pull the ol' free 360 game rentals achievement festival. ;)

So the interview went pretty well today. It was a group interview so there were four of us and they're hiring three. One guy was half an hour late, he said he thought it started at 9:30 instead of 9:00. So I'm pretty confident I'll get the job.

I was the best dressed thanks to Taucias. ;-) I was in a shirt and tie and everyone else was dressed very casual. It felt a little weird but my friend said you can never overdress an interview.

So now I just gotta wait for the background check to go through and wait for a phone call. :icon_bigg

Good man, your friend is right. I have hired people in a retail situation and I know the policy our store had back then, it seems to be the same in other places too. I think it shows you take the job seriously and you make the best impression when you look well dressed - plus it can make you feel more confident sometimes too. Where i worked we had a list of categories and we scored the people for each one out of 5. So being well dressed could be the difference between a 1 or 2 and a 5, 3 extra points for just making that small effort.

Anyway, best of luck. Any job is money in your pocket and builds your history so even if it ends up being a bit dire, it's an experience eh?

Good to hear things went well. As for my job, well, I came into the store and grabbed an application. Upon returning the app to the people at Customer Service, I was immediately interviewed by a manager and then the store manager.

I was wearing an old T-shirt and bad shorts. I wasn't expecting this to happen, hehe. I was hired a couple days later, and I still work there.

Like others say, the people make all the difference. And I'm lucky to be working with some good folks.

Here's where I work (would've told you earlier but you probably would have laughed me off, hehe)

But the Beyond section is where you get universal remotes! ('Click' reference)

YES! I finally got a call back today. They said they'd love to hire me and I'm going in today to be put in the system and stuff. I didn't think I got the job because it took a while but yes. I'm excited. I can finally get off my lazy butt and work. :p

congratulations man, do they do game trade ins at US blockbusters? Even if not you`ll probably find a bunch of stock in the back that should`ve gone to clearance, old rental games etc.
