Hi if someone is interested on it http://www.amusements-shop.com/2009/10/12/chihiro-xbox-bios-dumped/ also looking back on my old posts you all can find the other chihiro tsops (media board dump and base board dump) Enjoy
Seeing how the dump is a couple of years old, I'd assume it's been widely spread... Why don't you use the one from the MAME romset, it's probably the same as this.
CodeAsm, I hate you. Every time I look down the forums to see which have new threads, I see: "I have dumped an released..." Too much info! lol
EDIT: Thank FlyingHellfish @retro Thats great news isnt it? everyday a new release of the chihiro kernel. (I wish) I do like to add, that the source code leak holds a "arcade" version of the kernel, did not check it myself yet but what version is your or the public Chihiro kernel seranto?
I don't think that the chihiro kernel is included in the leaked source, I dont know if it was written by then, although Im sure there are scraps. of it
So "arcdkrnl.exe" and "arcdrom_dvt6_ext.bin" are or not some pre CHihiro stuff? (still havent finished my own search and discover over the sources) "MediaBoardDirectoryNameBuffer 800126f0 idexarc:mediabrd.obj " Mediaboard is all over the place when you compile for arcade. found in "mediabrd.c": this one might indicate MS made a FPGA version first (maybe uset the DVD emulation board? maybe later produced a ASIC version for SEGA ? (application-specific integrated circuit) WOW.. yeah im writing this while reading that mediaboard code: Ill leave it with this for now. Enjoy
The full title was great, sure... but as it shows up on the home page, it sounds like the OP pooped Ahh... now I feel like Chandler! heh
Had to watch it with sound (of course) haha... omy how did I never seen this one. also, I now get what you mean. the joke dropped the coin or something. and well, i did found something nice about the chihiro, I just dumped it, see above ;P
It's been a while since I looked at the evidence I have, but I believe it mentioned that everything was still in progress and not final
Yes thats obvious from "fpga" to Asic in my opinion. I do think a litle compare to the chihiro kernel(bios?) would maybe help identify the version and some changes (not much) its still a xbox of some sorts. I found traces from the pc version and well, almost sega, so its a nice source code tree, I have ofcourse no idea whats in the latest one, and there is almost no retail xbox code in the first one. and have no real clues to what other source code trees might hold (if not the same, just more files) But thats another topic, this is preChihiro code comments, will a kernel like this run on modified retails? and will it somewhat run chihiro games? I hope Xqemu would be the easiest method to test this (I should try compiling that again) anyway, should I stop replying so this thread (the title) can get some rest?
