@Druid II: Thank you very much for that info. This means, the device from ebay is 100% genuine from looking. I already know about the AV pinout, I wanted to post that link before you explained already everything: http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/console/sega/ntsc-saturn-scart.htm

Now I would like to buy the original JP21 RGB cable, but I cant find JP21 to EUR SCART Adapter.

@cez: Are you using an official SEGA EUR SCART RGB cable?

No, I'm using a cheap 3rd party cable that has leads for several systems on one end. Haven't used it in a while though. Will try again and see if it still works as I remember.

OK, I found the adapter: http://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/european-scart-to-japanese-scart-converter.html

There is a drop down menu to change the type.

How can I identify model 2 JP21 Saturn RGB SCART cables? On the cable itself or on the box?

I doesn’t mean "fake" in that way. I thought it was assembled from two different consoles and the serial on box was faked...

Get the original Sega one, the V is the kind of licensed version that has nothing besides different branding.

If you want something truly different from Sega hardware then get an XEye or the Aiwa megacd

Do a region free bios mod and use the hi-saturn 1.02 bios.

I own pre-production Saturn - like one of those prototype controller with Internal Property sticker and etc.
Anyhow it's been years last time I opened that thing but from memory there wasn't any cooling fan inside.
Sega must decided to ditch the fan way before finalising the production model...

Interesting. Didn't know about this. Wonder which revision mine would be?
    Rev 1? 2? 3? 4? :p

I have only see slightly differences on the startup sound of CD player, between 1.00 and 1.01.
