Man, that case is really beautiful!! I'm thinking about getting a broken one by sea, and putting inside it my computer. I know that would need some hardcore modding, specially for getting a stock ATA DVD-RW drive fit on the CD ROM slot, but the thing that does really backtreat me is... Will a full size ATX board + 8800 + PSU + fans fit inside it? It does look pretty damn small.
My word thats a nice case ^^ I would say go for it. At worst you have to get a mini mobo and rig it up if your main stuff wont fit. That will look sweet. I would also take out the floppys and replace them with some kind of digital temp gauges or something and paint the gaces the same color as the case so it looks stock. And at the bottem pull the controller ports or whatever those are and pop a couple USB's in there. If you do decide to do it please post up some pics of the build and finished product. Good luck!
I've though about putting on the first floppy my internal 3.5" card reader and down that the LCD screen my case has, gluing it to a 3.5" plate with the right hole. And the USB stuff too. But I'm aware that one of those will cost a fucking ton to ship. ;_;
I bought one from a guy in Italy, and that's exactly what I got... a broken one! He didn't pack it very well and it got trashed. It worked but was crushed into a funny shape with lots of bits of broken plastic. I was gutted as it's a machine that I'd been lusting after for decades ever since Ace magazine offered one in a competition. I later bought another one from the same guy (this time with matching monitor) which arrived in one piece! They are very sexy indeed - far sexier than a marty IMHO.
in the PC biz, there isn't really something much more nice thing out, than the good ol' fm towns housing!
Hardly difficult! I like the Towns II all in one mini. Hardly portable as it weighs a lot, but cool nonetheless.
