Just found the original details on when Nintendo UK/Europe launched the DS and they ran a competiton "Back in January, we set the ultimate challenge: impress us with your Nintendo merchandise collection and you’ll win a VIP trip to the Nintendo DS launch event in Paris!" This was only part (must have almost as much again) of my Nintendo collection as it took me 3+ hours to get it from the loft/attic and also couldn`t find the room/space to display it. For full size picture http://img57.imageshack.us/my.php?image=nintendopartcollection7gn.jpg And this is what won it http://www.nintendo-europe.com/NOE/en/GB/news/article.do?elementId=O2wBJbSLjGosQpOWj05nP4Hi8BFJosEn Like I say I`m not bitter OH: (sorry quiet here in the office at the moment)
Maybe the winners picture is cropped? could be that on the left of the picture, just out of shot, are a bank of Zelda' prototype carts signed by the team (and their mothers) - All housed in a 'cottage' made entirely out of rare nintendo lunch snacks given away free at an obscure vegetarian mcdonalds in Alaska 30 years ago? ....just a thought.
Well, we have always known Nintendo Europe are full of shit and this just goes to prove it. I feel sorry for you virtual alan :crying: Yakumo
Nice collection pal, you must have, at least, 15K in games there... Anyway, I think the girl won because: A-She's showing her complete and utter fanatism to the nintendo cause (Heil!) by wearing like one of their most precious franchise. B-She's a GIRL! not to be sexist here: I know gamer girls arent as rare a they used to be, but they are still quite unusual, so a nice way to attract more women-users to this genre is showing they can be a a part of the gamer community. Plus casual male gamers get all excited over a girl gamer....
Yeah, I think she won because she cosplayed as Link, IMO. Just for the hell of it, cosplay as man-faye and email it to Nintendo of Europe.
Dude that's against the Geneva convention! Like killing a turkey by trowing frozen chunks of crisco at it!:fresh:
yeah dress in gay clothes that seem to be like link and win...and then fuck off but still, very very nice stuff alan!
This thread is already goin' places. Well partly thanks to me! ^_^ Anyways, I think its unfair. They should judge on the things you have that prove how "hardcore" you are. Any idiot can cosplay (and most of them are idiots to begin with) as Link. I guess they wanted true blue raving Nintendo fanboys that have no shame. Next time if they do one, Cosplay as Pikachu or something.
is it possibe since you werent in the shot they might have assumed you just took a pic from somone elses collection? Either way its bs, but what you going to do. Alot of people ive seen win contests arent even as hardcore as those that deserve. It probably was just a marketing thing of them choosing a winner that appeal to most audiences.
