okay well i downloaded an XDK launcher from theisozone and wanted to use the halo 2 meta editor but you need a debug kit ip address. so thats why i downloaded this xdk launcher now it works and it shows the dashboard. but when i try to connect on the pc, it instantly says can not connect. i have the same ip as the debug dash. there is also something about xbdm.dll 1.00.7887.1 or something like that when i try others my question is, does the console need to have flashed bios in order for me to connect to my pc to use this meta editor?
You will probably need one of the hacked BIOS files if you are connecting via XBox Neighborhood. I dont know anything about Halo 2 so.
No, you will need to have some soldering if you want to flash it, or a solderless chip but those were pretty crappy. Not sure if a bios loader is compatible with the debug bios
I have used a biosloader on a modchipped xbox to get my debug dash going, not sure if it will fix a halo2 editor. Try Phoenix Bios Loader. Else I say try a modchip, Pogopins are nice and no solder... just make shure not to drop your Xbox.. wait, never drop it... HDD are not shock proof XD
ive read a few places you can do it with conductive ink or even a led pencil? also PBL always gives me a black screen when i load it. does it on 6 different consoles
They might technically work, but you may as well solder it to get full functionality. Irons are cheap for what you need it to do.
Hmm, sometimes it did on mine to.. somehow once it worked and a few bioses I used worked aswell... something about PBL settings I think...
Mine used to have a BIOS loader that would run debug bios then boot the xdkdash and i was able to do some memory poking i might be able to help on AIM
