Well, there's a lot you can do with a debug. I recommend installing VS 2003 and the SDK to go with it, need a computer running Win XP or VM running it. That way you can FTP files to your console via Neighboorhood. Then you can back up your console and then install the latest recovery, and play even more games. And if you install the SDK, you can start doing some programming on the XBOX.

If you really want to play it , you could buy a wii version , it was released for the wii in November 2011 :)
my version is a incomplete and also a very buggy debug version that does not run on a modded xbox .

Hey I reverse engineered Halo 4 into a developer DISC BASED and extracted copy for my dev kit with the market place dlc as well as sign content for dev kits. I'm pretty sure I can get that to run on my softmodded xbox, xbox 360 dev kit, and Jtag. I also did a lot more stuff that I didn't release.

O yes , i believe there is a lot possible, especially if you know a lot about xbox hardware and programming :).

Well, you aren't the only person on this forum with debug kit :smile-new:

If you want to release it, it's up to you. It's something I've done in the past, releasing small unreleased games. The question is if you want to hold on to it to be the only one to appreciate it, or if you want other people to enjoy it as you've had.

Quite a hypocritical thing to say considering you haven't released Johnny Whatever yet!

Question: If I buy a debug kit, without content, develop some software half way with it, and sell the debug kit, does its value go up?

Short story, no. longer story, if the game you develop is awesome and lots of people like to have the source or your game makes it to a retail release (you port the version for example to Xbox arcade) then the source, or game files on the debug may invluence the value a bit (say, you made a awesome ps2 emulator wich is proven to be run but dont release any code or file.) yeah... else its just rubbish or free with the buy :D

All other ideas of making something is properbly a Troll idea. Value of software is up to the buyer. it must be "awesom" or "special" in the buyers mind.

After some thought, I can see the value in having a beta copy of a game; if you want a collection based on the game or developer studio. If you think of it as a piece of art, then the game is like a historical draft. You can get a digital copy of artwork for free anywhere. The physical original is where the value is in most parts of the world. But these games are a digital copy, and the medium can be spoofed. The kit could be said to be from another game developer with a beta build on there which could be true or false. Can you trace debug kits by serial? Selling a digital copy of a non-retail game seems like a scam to me, and paying more for a kit with content, random or not, doesn't seem like a secure investment for trading or it is valued only for extreme niche collectors after that game or dev studio.
