I saw the "post your computer pics" thread and thought that might not be a bad way to introduce myself. I'm about half way through my Master's degree (then on to a Doctoral) in Computer Science (as if you couldn't figure that out from the pics below). After that, I'm going to try to go into the underpaid and overworked lifestyle of game design. I have a nice "development studio" that I have just added a DVT4 to. Right now it is connected to the 32" TV, but I will connect it to the monitor that is turned off in the pictures when I get my Nextvision N6. By the way, I have a VERY loving wife.
Nothing wrong with caffeine-free Coke. I used to drink around a six-pack of Mountain Dew and a couple cans of Pepsi each day. I think that it made me a little edgy though...
Hi mairsil. Say, have you ever taken the AP Computer Science Exam? I will be taking that class next school year, and would like to know what one thought about it.
Whats the problem? You have all sorts of cool stuff, and you set it up pretty cool, and the desk...don't even get me started on the desk!
Nope. In my school, we were lucky to have Apple IIe's to use. Of course, that was back in '95 too (I worked for awhile before being able to return to college). Well, the third monitor doesn't match and I don't have any room for any Gamecube development hardware (if I ever get any)... Unfortunately, the desk isn't as nice as the one I had before (it had raised shelving for books and CD's). We had a flood in our apartment and the desk got trashed. It took forever to find this desk, but I am pleased with it. It's an O'Sullivan Intelligent Design Living Dimensions Collection (http://www.staples.com/Products/SpotLights/Osullivan/LivingDimensions/Default.asp).
Mairsil, the Pretender? Back from being imprisoned in Barl's Cage are we? (disregard if this doesn't make a bit of sense ) And a nice setup there, plus kudos for getting that far into CS, I'm currently in the second year of my BSc but the road is a little bumpy...
Heh, an enlightened fellow. Personally, I always liked the original Inferno better than any of the other Mairsil cards (that is, until they changed it in one of the later printings). Right now, my Master's program feels a little slow. In my undergrad, I was taking five or six classes a semester (7 classes/22 credits one semester), but now I am only taking three a semester. I felt really bored this last semester (only two classes and an independent research project).
I have a link to the Staples collection a few posts up. It's an O'Sullivan desk, so you should be able to find it in a lot of places (which are cheaper than Staples).
2 questions for you: what's the name of your software running on your pc? and second: i've never seen any multiple screen other than in pictures, how does it works anyway? do you use your mouse to pass your pointer across the two screens?
