ive got a few unreleased beta's here but i paid for them and its up to me what i do with them

people share plenty of beta's for free so enjoy them and if you want any more put your hand in your pocket and buy the yourself

Yep, I'm from the UK and yep, it's no typo either. "Am I fuck" is quite a common phrase in the north of England. It basically means, "No, I'm not".

 

If they WANT to they can do a fundraiser but I do not think they should have to do anything the do not want..... I mean after all its thier money that they spent on what they wanted to buy so I'd say if they want to the can do a fundraiser by choice..

Because you started a topic, how we proceed is not solely based upon whether it goes the way you intended or hoped. People have the right to weigh in with their thoughts and comments on the topic. You do not have to approve and you are free to ignore the thread from this point on but the rest of the members have the right to continue discussion as they see fit, have you used many forums? Enforcement is too impractical. What beta holders should do is have fallback plans to relatively anonymously release, in case someone happens to them.
We don't want disappearance of protos either.

 

Even if we came up with the best set of rules that seemed to solve all the potential problems with these transactions, some d***head is going to "sell" to some poor fool and rip him off. We will probably hear about it.

The best thing we can do is educate the masses about dealing with this sort of purchasing with the hopes that we reach that one fool and save him the money and save "us" the grief/frustration.

To be fair I think we're very fortunate to get a good deal of protos for free or through donation-driven releases. I'd hazard a guess that the OP is after something in particular and that he doesn't have the means to obtain it, sad but if you want something then you can always keep saving or trying to get it. That, or be patient and thankful for what we do get like the rest of us.

 

I really like it when people share their betas, but I don't hold them as "greedy" when they do not. I do find it to be a bit of a selfish act, but I do not judge the owners as selfish, nor do I believe they should be branded "greedy" for not sharing. I wish everyone would share, because it would be cool. But it's okay when they don't.

This being said, the poll here made me angry. I teach Research Methods and you will not like me when statistics and polling make me angry.
