Nice! Now I'm even jealous of PAL users although I ve been an importer all my life. I never thought this day would come..its nightmare Studying is sucking my soul dry of fun and Wii goodness
with which cables is it distributed? and does it FINALLY support RGB video scart? i doesn't want to buy a console that will make my eyes cry all the time like N64 did...
since the max resolution it can display it's the dvd one you are better off with scart rgb. same quality (or better saying almost the same) with no separated audio, more sturdy connector and often better protected... edited: you get better video from composite only from resolution above wii capabilities
the Wii is capable of outputting Progressive Scan, so in that case you can better use Component in stead of an standard RGBcable. I'm getting my PAL Wii tomorrow
so are rgb scart cable available or not? ?_? by the way, you are right progressive scan is the only extra feature you might have, but i prefer to have less cables around
technically true, but personally on my 32" lcd TV i can't tell any difference from 572p and 572/60Hz... you really do? by the way, i hope the N64 blurryties haven't burn the last of my eyesight
As I m using a VGA monitor, progressive signal is of the outmost significance to me. Having native RGB(HV) is wayyyy better than upscanning 15.7 Khz to 31Khz.
Barcode, it is true that 572p is better but here in europe Componet is not so common like Euro Scart RGB. A RGB Cable for Wii would be very nice. @Virtual Alan, do you have a RGB Cable? If yes, can you please take a Photo from the Connector so that we can see the Pins?
Indeed, for RGB users. Fortunately, my home TV supports EDTV (480/572p). It must be noted that the GameCube did NOT support 572p (Although the hardware did, the games did not) , only RGB (RGB cable was not compatible with US/JPN cubes or N64- just SNES)
ah ah! that is why see i'm not surrendering for most of the people will play on standard tvs jokes aside, how does stndard gamecube games run? any enhancements on grafics? save on HD? faster loading, or nothing at all? also wii games are natively in 16:9 or 4:3?
nintendo has not set-out any standards for the visuals unfortunately. As such, anything (US/JPN) tha ran in progressive, still runs in progressive regarding gamecube titles. The wii's default is 4:3, and some games support 16:9 (you can set either thru game or Wii OS) progressive scan is not mandatory in the checklist for developers.
I have pal wii since 26.11 Whoite system with Zelda Twilight Princess, Wii Play and Wii Sports. And of course component video cable. Wii Play is a crap, wii sports is quite playable, but Zelda kicks ass!
