Thanks for the Wii mod links guys. As for the smart ass comments about the Wii having no games again, man this is getting old. Loads of great games for it but of course you guys who only own a PS3 or 360 wouldn't know since only the kiddy shit seems to get promoted. Also the Lego series of games are quite funny if you know t he movies well (Which I do) and great fun to play for all ages as mentioned. There's no way I'd buy a PS3 (far too much money) but I would be tempted to buy the 360 and it's version of Lego Indiana Jones and a few other games however the thought of having to replace the console within a year really puts me off. Yakumo
Thanks for that link. I've decided that the $300 I spent on my Wii was a total waste, and was looking for something like this.
That's getting old too yakumo.. but we are getting old so its ok but you are right after 3x 360 i gave up and dont own one anymore.. and now they tell me the problems are over pfff.... i'll stick to my ps3 for playing.. uhmm not much besides some movies nowadays and maybe buy a wii for the misses so she can loose a couple of pounds on wii fit for christmas.. not sure yet how she will take it doh ;-)
There are good games for the Wii, but compared to Nintendo's other systems I think it's pretty slim. Multiplatform games I would rather get on the 360 most of the time, so that leaves them out, like the Lego games. There is a ton of shovelware and kiddy crap but same with the other systems, like the DS, but it still has a ton of good stuff. It's just a little lacking I think. I bought a grand total of 5 games for my Wii since last year. I used to defend it and I just can't anymore.
Only 5 games? What did you buy? I've bought about hmm, 8 or 9 since last year. I'll probably get about 5 more before the end of the year with all the new releases coming out. I've defiantly going to buy the new Capcom Vs title. Looks really good and I must confess to being a bit of a Battle of the Planets (Gatchaman) fan so the chance to play as Mark (as he was in the UK version. Think he was called Derk in the US one) in a beat'em up is pretty cool. yakumo
I got Smash Bros. Brawl, No More Heroes, Mario Kart Wii, Red Steel, and Trauma Center. I think I have 10 total Wii games. There are games I want to play on it, but compared to the probably 20-30 something 360 games I bought this year, it's a little lacking, lol. I think I have 51 360 games. Used prices of course, no way I could afford to pay full. I think only 3 of them were bought new. I think my point is just there's no way I could do with just a Wii as a new system. There's not enough on it for me, glad I have one though. I still play it more then PS2 at least. :033:
Yakumo, Ah, I got a very rusty sledge hammer you can borrow?  :noooo:  Ah, maybe you better stick with the mod chip, ideal ! safer!
The softmod is safe to install, also another benefit is that it skips game updates as well and plus you wont void your warranty. What can brick a Wii if installing corrupted Wad files, but that can happen on a hard-modded or soft-modded Wii.
I'm going to do the softmod this weekend. Going to order myself US versions of The Simpsons Game and Lego Indiana too from Amazon. Just hope they'll ship to Japan. Yakumo
that's what I thought but just bought Indian from Amazon themselves and The Simpsons from a store that sells through Amazon and will ship to Asia. Nice  Yakumo
Well just remember not every single game will work correctly using the backup loader but no worries as the games you got works 100%. Here is a compatibility list. http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/index.php/Backup_Launcher_v3 Just look for the ones that work with Gamma.
Also don't ever update your Wii using a Pal or Ntsc game,it can really mess up yours Wii as yours is Ntsc-j.
Ah, I never knew that. Luckily the ones I bought work like you say. Thanks for the help:nod: OK! So if a game asked to update I should just select NO, right? Yakumo
yes, u must choose no. I doubt that it will contain an update though, since it's mostly high profile titles, and usually first party titles that carry updates. There are ways to dumb the update, i.e fake it, but you need to burn a DVD with the game image (pirating, by some) that contains a patch to nullify the update.
Well when you use the backup loader it skips all game updates but there is a option in the backup loader that can boot games from the disc channel just like a real game and that can ask you for a update so just stick to booting games from the backup loader and you will be fine.
You must understand that the wii has alot of japanese exclusive that aren't being released here. And yes as someone who owns a 360, when it comes to multiplatform games, I'd rather play it on 360. I myself am probably going to try that softmod myself so I can import that new capcom vs game.
Hey port 187, Haven't see you around here for a while, were you been buddy? Hope all is well with you and your girl? As for the Wii its a great little machine, man! It ROCKS!!! :love2: :love2: :love2:
