LOL oh the irony. Theres plenty of assholes on here if you look, its no better than gamefaqs. However also on here are some very knowledgable & clever people. Something which gamefaqs lacks.
No, there wouldn't have been a "Dreamcast 2." Think about it. Even though some seem to think differently, the Dreamcast was the first 128-bit console out on the market, so it's generation is the same as the PS2, Gamecube, and XBOX. It just got out of the gate a little earlier than the others (see later XBOX 360 launch). So, if there was a successor to the Dreamcast, it would be launched with the current generation (PS3, XB360, Wii). If you were someone who knew nothing about consoles and wanted to get the "best" console on the market, what name says that to you: Dreamcast 2 Playstation 3 XBOX 360 Wii Out of all of those, the '2' might signify to some "not in the know" that it's somehow inferior. I mean, three is greater than two, right? A suggestion is "Sega Constellation" because it would be backwards compatible (sum of many past parts of Sega, much like many stars make up a constellation). The only problem I see there is that it's open to a wide variety of misspellings. It's also too close to the word "consolation," as in "consolation prize." Might be an easy joke to make on the console if it would fail or be at the low end of the spectrum spec-wise.
1-That was the exact same problem with Xenon, reason why it was renamed X360 instead of Xbox2 as it should. 2-Are you serious? thats the worst name I've ever heard... Seriously, why dont we call it DC-10?
Next time at least google around if you dont know... The DC-10 and Constellation are well known passenger planes.
