I just watched Ghost in the Shell 2 for like the 5th time tonight and I realized how awesome it would be to Upload my Soul on to the internet like the Major did. If could do that I would do the following:

    Edited to be less stupid

    -Find out how Shenmue ends
    -Screw around with bank accounts
-Hijack XBOX live and make all the servers display the Laughing man
-Upload myself to a government spy stalite and watch friends Masturbate/have sex. Then record it and upload in real time what I'm watching to my other friends computers.
    -Get revenge on Dee
    -Take down PETA
-Mess around with hacker nerds and tell them they're in the matrix and they are the one. Then tell them there are others and the one can only die by having their heads cut of then see how long it takes them to realize it's Half Matrix and Half Highlander........after they have their fangasam they actually belive me.
-Some how Kill the members of Good Charlotte and Derick from Sum 41
-Change the passwords on adult sties to my birthday
-Hijack the Brains of Fred Phelps and Jack Tompson and make them fight to the death.
    -Leak Duke Nukem Forever
-Hijack Team Ninja and have nudity finally be in DOA 5
-Download part of my self to an unsuspecting Nerd's PS3....and make them get a 360 then download myself to the 360 and make it red ring
-Hijack Paris Hilton and make her say something intellgent
-Blow something up.......in China.......and say Iran did it
-Turn off all the cameras in london.
    -Make G4 not suck.
-Change the feeds on cable channels so disney is the Spice Channel and Spice is Disney.
-World wide Sale on HDTVs......1 cent EVERYWHERE.
-Fix price gouging on Amazon once and for all no more $500 for a mint XBOX copy of Marvel VS Capcom 2.
    -Make every PS3 on Earth........die
-Create a custom Wii firmware to region free it.
-download Emulators to every PSP and hack the firmware with out the need to risk bricking the PSP.
    -Drive Hedio Kojima......Sane

What kind of church do you attend exactly?

I wouldn't want to jack in online forever. The thought horrifies me!

I guess I'd prolly hack eBay so that I delete any previous bids on an item & ALWAYS WIN at the lowest starting price I feel comfortable at, not that I really care. I'd also like to be able to "tweak" my PayPal account balance, but that would be quite obvious.

I would start a fight against spam, and if I know myself well I'd get bored in 5 minutes, so I'd spend the rest of my life trying to get outta there (I know I wouldn't listen the instructions before entering :p )

I'd promptly remove myself from such a clusterfuck. I try to spend as little time on the internet as possible; there is no way I'd ever volunteer to put my soul on it.

And why the hell would you? Most of the ideas there are dumb, but even so, all of them could be done without uploading your soul anywhere. My old Cisco networking teacher worked at IBM for 20 some odd years with some of the best hackers in the business, they played with bank accounts for fun in the 80's.

Eh it was late.......I was trying to be funny.

Wasn't there an episode of Cowboy Bebop about just this sort of thing.....

Edited some of the dumber ones.

but yeah if my soul was on the internet I would be totally untraceable. It would exactly like in Ghost in the Shell with Mokoto When she left her body behind and became one with the internet.

I strictly oppose the idea of living forever, thru any medium (that's one of the reasons religion always scared me, eternity is boring=p). Live fast, die young ;)

The other problem is if I uploaded my soul to the internet which first off I don't even know if that's possible. Others would want to. And being God wouldn't be all that fun at all if there are other people too.

How many terabytes is a person's soul/brain anyway.......we don't even know that yet we may never know.

The 'soul', if such a thing exists, is too abstract to be turned into a stream of data, which is what you'd need to do to upload it to the Internet. If you get scientific, the soul is just the interaction of the physical body and the chemical processes of the mind, which could possibly emulated in hardware one day, but never in software alone. I personally believe there is more to one's self than the physical and we have life after physical death.

    Interesting question GodofHardcore!

And I'm not talking about something like the matrix either. Where you plug in and then Plug out. If you've seen Serial Experements Lain it would be something along those lines of uploading your spirt, mind, soul on to the internet though not through suicide like in Lain.

I was going to go on a theological tangent but my own words were confusing me. The jist of it is a soul cannot leave the body without death or near death. Another one would be religions that belive in reincarnation which while I don't belive that to be true reincarnating as part of the internet was one example. But I don't want to think of an internet full of the reincarnated souls of Buddists and Hindus.

I would read the instructions, before I did it. And then I would have some serious fun. And when I had succeded then I would plug myself back to the real world.

    Yeah one thing though.

Once your soul is on line there's no going back to the real world unless you upload your self to a cell phone or mobile device or find another body (hijacking ghost in the shell style)

    Removal of Soul from body=Death.
