Yes. Just like computer monitors. CRT > Plasma(someone may go against this, so this statement is opinionated).

    All in HD

They do make High Definition CRT televisions though... there really is no excuse...

That is one serious collection he's got there. It's also nice to see a collectors room that's actually well lit. Normally they are dark dank looking rooms. Shame about his TV though :p Even mine is better than that and mine is crap well not crap but you know.

    Nice collection!

That TV is between 21" and 25". What's so bad about it? It isn't a 100 Hz TV (unless you can sswitch them off, shite for lightgun games as in WON'T WORK). He's got a lot of old consoles so doesn't need widescreen. Perfectly good gaming TV, I'd say.

He's probably in the US. If that TV has RGB on the back, then that's great for a US TV. And yeah, plasma is crap and won't last as long.

    Nice paint job!!! Hehehe

That guy's an insaniac. His house is like some freaky showroom!

And judging by the RCA sockets on the front and the C64 under it, that TV must be at least 24", if not 28". And yeah, what's the point in getting a big mad-ass modern widescreen TV if about 99% of the games he has aren't widescreen?

And I agree with everyone else who said that CRTs are the way to go for games. The ultimate gaming set-up would probably be a CRT projector (which nearly always have hard-core RGB inputs through BNC sockets :smt045 ), but they cost a bomb... or two!

Super Great collection, man. The cartridges look all orderly and stuff... and he has a 7800. You know how hard it is to get a god damn 7800 down here?

I don't see the problem with the small TV. I have a 21 tv with my stuff (it's definitely not even a fraction of that monster collection, but it's growing), and I don't see anything wrong with that. Yes, it's a flat screen, but it's still 21 inches. I had a 14 inch TV before that.
And yes, CRT is far superior to LCD or Plasma.
I also have a 19 inch computer monitor - and no big TV yet. No big TV for a while, actually, damn student loan.

What makes you think the guy doesn't have a girlfriend, though?
I turned my ex into a serious videogame addict (she loves 2D stuff, mostly platformers), and my current girlfriend is hooked on Skies of Arcadia and other RPGs. Most of my female friends are gamers (even if some are closet gamers) - and I can say almost half of my friends are female.
Then again, the people around me are all weird...

I have to confess though. I haven't been a packrat unlike this guy. Just recently I sold two of my prized posessions cuz I needed the money. They were Valkyrier Profile and Tales of Desitny 2. My true prized posession is Arc The Lad Collection, as well as the strategy guide for it and the poster I got.
