Well my vacations over (it lasted longer then expected), and i've come back bearing gifts. What type of gifts exactly? Well, scans for magazines (of unreleased systems, games, accesories, tech demos, etc.), but not just a few, instead I have brought you all several hundread from the most famous of games to ones im sure many of you have even never heard of. The images were all scanned at 200dpi in 32bit color, and saved at high resolution bitmaps. I have down sampled these into jpg format and in a few cases reduced the resolution for your viewing pleaseure (and so imageshack will accept them). I will have the high quality versions of all the scans available on my ftp, which will have the exact info in their name of what mag, date, and page the artical/image comes from. As for general scan quality, the machine I was using hadn't worked in two years, and was found in a musty basement. So please forgive minor quality issues that may be apparent in a few of the images. Very, very nice collection of images. While many of the beta screens can be found in high-res across various game sites, the magazine articles make up for it. Do you still have some of the articles on some of the games? (Such as the early build of Ocarina of Time, etc?)
Bloody hell mate, that must have taken you well over an hour to add all of those links :smt023 Thanks very much. Some pretty good stuff in there. I noticed that you have 7 Mansions by Koei listed but this was released in Japan and the version shown is the same as the final version. It looks good in stills but it really looks crap and moves like stiff card. Not to mention it's boring The Dreamcast TV Phone headset is just the Dreameye which was also released in Japan and still works even now. I've used mine once. The Dreameye also works as a Digital camera The version pictured is identical to the released version apart from the cover around the camera lense. I belive you could buy different ones of these. It turned into conkers bad fur day on the N64, and in an attempt to remove the kiddy image of nintendo kept the fluffy characters but had toilet humour and swearing throughout
Just out of curiousity (I've never played the game before), were the levels kept the same or was Bad Fur Day a completely new game?

It took me alot of time to scan, crop, and then later resize and reformat the images, so im glad you all liked them now onto the questions: Your right, it did come out in japan (I didn't know till now), but the first of the images mentiones a US version and its approximate release date, which as far as I can gather didn't make it out. Too bad the games no good though, those screens are deceptivly neat looking to me. Yea, i'd seen the camera for sale a couple years ago at an EBGames store, but I didn't know that head set was available. I thought the only mic for the dreamcast was the one that came with Seaman and Alien Front Online. It looks to be much nicer then those. Ah, that would make sense, seeing as how the level of geometry in that first shot far overshadows that of the final game. The second one looks closer to the final game though. Conkers Bad Fur Day is an almost entirly different game, with a few of the characters and objects recycled.
I could still be wrong, but I'm almost certain the both of them are only mockups. I don't think the GUI looked like that in any version of the game, beta or no. The very first "real" screenshots of the game came out only a few months before it was finally released, if I remember correctly. If you have any doubts, Mark Jones may be able to help out. didnt thrill kill get a limited release, i seem to remember some story about some store in the u.k. selling the game for a couple of days before being pulled...has anyone else heard that? and any more information on that dreamcast watch adapter, that thing looks kinda cool. thanks
