Was Parcel Force formed by Royal Mail or bought by Royal Mail? In my experience they're as bad as each other, but Royal Mail employees tend to not bother leaving slips to tell you that they've put the parcel in the outhouse that I never look in...imagine my surprise seeing my package in there 2 months later and disappointment finding it very damp :(

Bad news! It looks like the strikes will actually be extended. I've heard warnings of another 48hr strike this week and potentially next week (so, more than likely mon / tue) to maximise disruption.

A spokesman stated that there was a skeleton staff (probably those who hadn't joined the union) working at 60% of capacity. We've not had a single piece of mail since last Thursday, so I very much doubt it!

Before you post anything, reconsider it! You might lose it!

cheers mate, hope your pakcages arrive safely too. Same goes for everyone here, i`m sure a lot of us here have rare items in the post right now. The thought of packages getting chucked about and kicked as they pile up is very worrying, then again thats a normal day at RM.

Parris: Today I've reminded this thread and I've thought: "Ouch!". Three days ago I bought some stuff from the UK and I had forgotten about the strike which you mentioned :S . I hope this makes me learn and train my memory more.

It has become officially worse because of further strikes planned for next week.

Hopefully this strike will be ended early or the Government will capitulate, however I strongly suspect not!

The postal misery is set to continue for a good couple of weeks from now. :-(

Just send out boxes with the word 'bomb' written on them or 'bomb parts for London subway'. I'm sure they won't touch those. Hell, it might even stop the strike ;).

Parris: Thanks for your useful info ;) . I'll warn my brother too, since he was going to buy some car stuff from the UK. I hope it's not too late.

Madhatter256: That reminds me to an issue which I suffered some years ago. I prepared a package for hours for my now-ex-girlfriend (from the States). This was designed to make her open it by steps. First, one present, next, one more, and so on... She received it and I asked her about it. She had found everything messed up inside the package! So much effort for nothing :S . The next time which I sent another letter/package I left notes inside for the mail service people LOL . Special "wishes" for them :p . And I'm sure these weren't opened just because of pure luck, but at least I felt like if they had worked, he he he :p .

Seems everyone is striking lately, heh.
German trains on strike every 2nd day now. Having a hell of a time to get around, depending on just the bus, which is overcrowded, smelly and horrible in general.

I have 2 items to ship to the UK soon, I just hope UK buyers understand the situation and don't blame me for late delivery :p

Yeah, I think everyone in the UK is aware of the situation, plus you'll be pleased to hear that last night the Union & Government agreed on a course of action to get the strikes (and wildcat / illegal strikes) resolved. Apparently things will be back to "normal" on Monday.

It's comforting to know that things will go missing, get damaged, not turn up and be opened prior to delivery as part of a normal delivery week rather than a distrupted one ;-)

Well today was the first day since I posted the original message that I've had a normal postal service. I think they've pulled their finger out! Might be slower for packages however.

Yesterday and today two letters arrived. I think they must be preparing a truck just for my gaming items and my brothers records :icon_bigg

WOW, my debug unit finally turned up after being in transit for over 5 weeks! Considdering Parcel Force had previously told me that it had been lost, it's magically appeared and is still in one piece!

It just goes to show that anything can happen in that wacky world of parcel delivery right?

Hope the same applies to everyone else who mentioned they were still waiting for stuff in this thread.... (fingers crossed DRussian!)

Has everyones stuff now arrived? Or am I the only one still waiting :crying: Things are trickling through I guess, just seems as though the most valuable package has been in the post the longest!
