Another prototype from POV, this time of a game titled IMSA. This game likely went on to become Sports Car GT. Keen viewers should notice that the same Atlanta track seen in the C&C prototype are also seen here.

This is an early build with the Atlanta track mostly working, and a simple model viewer. Still a really cool look at the development process.

Full credit to jollyroger for allowing me to help out with this title.

    Happy 20th Birthday Playstation!

Cool. Good drawn distance, and the vehicles have beautiful models too.

I'm really not into 3DO, M2 and this developer story, but the name of this game really made me think about IMSA Racing for M2. Is this prototype someway related to the M2 game?

I doubt this had anything to do with that M2 project of the same title - my guess is the International Motor Sports Association probably just allowed various companies to use their license within quite a small time frame, resulting in two games being developed around their IP almost simultaneously. Then again, both did suffer the same fate (not to mention POV was a known go-to team for porting code between platforms), so who's really to say?

Yeah, no relation. And considering this one didnt use the IMSA title other than on that screen, and it is believed to have been released without, I wouldnt bet on it.

That song is Moby's "Oil 1" (featured in the Xbox game "Test Drive Overdrive").
Did you use it as background music or was it an original placeholder?
