I previously owned SONY MDR-ED12LP earphones when I was in high school, of course they broke. However they are discontinued and I haven't seen any similar ones since. Googled for them and couldn't find a place that still had them. Had a look on eBay and there are blue ones, but none in silver which I really want. Also don't really trust getting them from Hong Kong incase they are fake. So I only have that blue choice. So my question is, are there any models similar to this by Sony or if there's a better brand out there with the same bass support? - Thinking of going with Audio-Technica because my sister got a pair of their inear earphones, but the cord snapped within months. I just miss those old earphones of mine, they were good
Sennheiser CX 300-II Precision? The Sennheiser ones are good in general and that particular range also come in silver.
Here's a graph about the best headphones available: http://head-phones.findthebest.com/v/1165/Average-Headphone-Quality-for-Popular-Brands
Sennheiser have good bass but not very good for people with hearing problems, I tried them and the pressure in my ears couldn't handle the bass, I prefer something with clearer sound as opposed to heavy bass so Sennheiser weren't the right choice for me.
I'd recommend scouring head-fi.org for reviews, recommended IEMs etc. I know they aren't quite as... independent... as they used to be, but in general I've had very good success with recommendations from there.
What ones did you go with then Geluda? I'm preferential to Sennheiser and Pioneer from older DJ and Radio equipment I was given so the Sennheiser stuff is usually my go-to choice.
I'll check them out Lamont, they seem to be in my price range as well. Certainly will have a look at the others that were mentioned too. Thanks guys
I still just use regular old iPhone ear pods as they don't really bother my ears too much, I get an endless supply of them really as they always break or go falty within the warranty period, they're easy to replace. I like them because of the mic and remote, they also work flawlessly with the iPhone's volume lock which is pretty important for me. I'm still trying to find a high quality pair my self but I think a proper pair of over ear headphones will probably be my best choice for clarity, my requirements are a little different to most people.
You aren't going to get a decent bass response with in-ear headphones, as the speaker driver diameter is limited by the size of your ear holes. A smaller speaker cannot produce low frequency sounds as easily as a larger driver can. You can *sorta* get round this by using things like ports, but at the end of the day a pair of closed cup headphones will always outperform a similar priced in-ear, especially when it comes to bass. Can highly recommend these, cheap and good! http://en-uk.sennheiser.com/dynamic-headphones-closed-hifi-stereo-hd-25-sp-ii
Sennheiser CX 300-II Precision seem a bit too expensive when I looked into them more. Aiming around $30-$40. They really don't have to be extremely awesome, just give enough nice sound.
Well if you weren't looking for silver or white ones exactly, there were Sennheiser ones for like $30 at JB. They have some other Sony ones online but they're white, not silver. http://www.jbhifi.com.au/portable/mp3-players/head-phones/sony/in-ear-headphones-white-sku-70424/ http://www.jbhifi.com.au/portable/mp3-players/head-phones/sony/ex-in-ear-headphone-white-sku-431821/ http://www.jbhifi.com.au/portable/m...2vpw-smartphone-in-ear-headphones-sku-398410/ These ones are partially silver... http://www.jbhifi.com.au/portable/m...mic-stereo-dynamic-sound-earphones-sku-52733/ The Sennheiser ones I posted earlier are a bit more expensive as they have the easy switch out adaptors for different ear sizes/shapes. The other silver ones on there that are just a little bit cheaper are the sports and water resistant ranges. May need to settle for getting a pair that are only partially silver as most of them appear to be bright coloured as of late (probably with the late 80s, early 90s fashion rearing it's head again this year).
I'll be heading to JB tomorrow and I'll check them out. I quickly did on Monday, but apparently staff are slacking everywhere. Shelfs are pretty empty, even in the supermarkets. So hopefully there's more there to look at.
Apparently there was some sort of warehouse strike (though one of my bosses could've been making assumptions) and then there were closed warehouses and the like on Mother's Day. So lots of stock orders have been messed up. I was expecting A LOT of stuff to arrive on either Saturday or Sunday. Nothing came in until Tuesday. Given half of the stuff comes from Melbourne, I'm leaning towards the odds of there having been another strike again if the shelves are empty down your way too. We typically don't get informed if there was a strike, outside of a possible delivery delay warning.
I haven't tried those headphones, but I have another set of headphones by them, the Klipsch Image ONE. They have a really rich, full sound to them. The bass is really nice. Those are on-ear headphones, though. I have some computer speakers by Klipsch, and those are really good as well. So, none of that is what you're looking for, but my point is that Klipsch makes some really good audio equipment - and it's not too expensive. So the S4i might be worth looking into.
Don't blame staff for strikes, being from Supermarkets who have more income than any other business, they can raise the pay. Anyway... I went into the store today, and found some good Sennheiser bass headphones. Can't remember the model number exactly but they are blue and were in the $30 range
There actually was a pay rise across the board for retail workers not that long ago. Either way, it's a pain when it screws up a delivery that the screwed up in the first place (they managed to LOSE a few pallets of stuff and one of which included some parts I needed to fix one of the printers with). Ah, they're out of the High Performance range - similar to the grey ones I linked to up a post earlier. They also come in red, orange, black, grey and white off the top of my head.
Nice. Glad they're comfy for you. I have to get ones with different sized adaptors so I usually just buy enclosed ear headphones. >_<;
That's the issue I have with many of those ones with the rubber ends. Always fall out of my ears. Prefer the normal style...
