    Hy,

I have received another PAL console (SCPH-102) modded and I'm not very sure what kind of modchip is using.
    Here is a picture: https://s18.postimg.org/r98kct12h/IMG_20161111_004346.jpg
I was thinking that is using ONEchip but I don't see that installing scheme on the internet.
    What do you think?

    Thanks!

PAL PSone consoles use the Onechip almost exclusively, as it's the only chip code that bypasses the BIOS region protection.
So yea, this is one as well :)

Oh yea, that's odd. Why solder in the thing and then leave off some options? Can't really be lazyness, or is it?

So, this mod is ONEchip - 6 Wire (Std Mod + NTSC Boot fix) ? Here is the diagram: http://www.fatcat.co.nz/psx/install/102/pm41_26w.html
Strangely the modchip in my console use 7 wires...
For example 1 and 2 use different location than in the diagram same for 7 and 8 (they are combined).

Yep, that's the diagram that the modder used on your install.
2 and 7 are tied to ground, soldering to the point to the location acorrding to this scheme should fix the problem.

    master991,
The diagram you provided is for motheboard PM41.
    I have PM41 (2).
Here is the correct diagram for 8 wires: http://www.fatcat.co.nz/psx/install/102/diagrams/pm41(2)8w.jpg
    Pins 3, 4, 5, 6 are identical. Pins 1, 2, 7 and 8 have different location.
    Thanks!

P.S. if I desolder pin 7 and 8 from the modchip and solder pin 8 from the modchip to the correct location on the motherboard (like in the diagram) but let pins 1, 2 and 7 soldered on my motherboard location, the modchip will work in Stealth + NTSC Boot fix?
    To understand better:
    - pin 1 (in my picture) is soldered next to UTC transistor but in the diagram is soldered next to Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor;
    - pin 2 (in my picture) is soldered next to CAUTION text but in the diagram is soldered next to SMD resistor;
    - pins 7 and 8 (in my picture) are soldered together next to text IC723 (SMD resistor) but in the diagram they are soldered differently and they are split.

Do not worry about pin 1 and 8. They are just power and can use multiple different points around the board.

So, for this modding what pin is wrongly soldered? I want it to work in Stealth + NTSC Boot fix.
I will try to burn some AntiMod games (here is the list http://consolecopyworld.com/psx/psx_protected_games.shtml) to see how the modchip behave in this configuration with pin 7 and 8 soldered together.

    Thanks!

I'm sorry for bad motherborad link, it was a lapsus.
BTW the only pin you need resolder are the 2 and the 7 (you need "unsplit" the 7 and 8 first!), the other ones are ok.
As already stated by Bad_Ad84 1 and 8 can be soldered in different location because the are power VCC and GND pin, so in your case are ok, and you don't need to resold at different location...

    Great finding my friends.
Today I've tested MediEvil 2 NTSC version (used REDUMP method). According to REDUMP and PSXCPLIST site this game it is a ANTI-MOD game.
Strangely enough it was working without a problem. No anti-mod error: http://thegia.com/archive/news/9912/n09/protect.gif
I will try another game with libcrypt protection to see if it's working.
UPDATE: it's working with libcrypt protection too. Test with MediEvil 2 PAL version (used REDUMP method), english edition. Again according to REDUMP and PSXCPLIST site this game it is a libcrypt game.

So, that modchip does have stealth and ntsc boot fix and how it is wired is good :)
How do you explain this? :D
Someone know a game with good protection to test this modchip? Thanks!

Most games disable the check on PAL bios machines.

So what you are saying that my console can work with all games?
    Thanks!

It's impossible that medievil 2 PAL works withouth any patch especially if it's a "shitty" redump format.
Libcrypt it's a protection based on subchannels, in short, it's something that any modchip can't detect and bypass...
So unlike antimod protection (which don't work on pal console) the libcrypt withouth any patch or proper dump with subchannels (and redump format it's simple an useless wrong method to copy\store a psx game) the games will always hang in a black screen or gives some glich...

An no, you modchip it's not wired for stealth mode.

But it's working in stealth mode because MediEvil 2 NTSC or PAL version works perfectly.
Console is SCPH-102 PAL and motherboard is PM-41 (2). NOT to be confused with PM-41, most known.
The modchip instead I don't know what it is because I find it in the console when I've opened it but according to some diagrams I think is OneChip.
Please name a game that you think it have a good protection and I will test it.
    Thanks!

Dino Crisis NTSC-U is a good test for checking if the stealth works.
For libcrypt protected games, you always need a (ppf) patch.

PAL don't have the antimod protection, but libcrypt, and as i've stated above it's a different thing!
So it's impossible that works thanks your modchip.
It's only a revision of the same board. So it's only an useless detail in this situation...

same as above. Already wrote that is an onechip WITHOT stealt support

@rama advised you a good test. As long you don't download the game on the web with the patch already applied...
Do you want test a libcrypt game? Crash team racing withot subchannels, only .bin + .cue format WITHOT any patch! and tell me what happens :p

Redump method doesn't include any subchannels data in their images; it's true they offer a separate file but don't include them in the .bin images. I have verified my created images with the redump database MD5 and they are identical for MediEvil 2 PAL (in redump database this game appear to have libcrypt protection) and NTSC version (in redump database this game appear to have anti-mod protection).
Today I hope to test those games: Dino Crisis NTSC-U (with redump method and clonecd method without the sub file) and Crash Team Racing (with redump method and clonecd method without the sub file).
If they work then I have a potato fairy mystical modchip :p

if you have dumped your image with subchannels with programs like clone cd or alcohol you have always subchannels in your dump but the md5 will always match with redump. Redump hashes don't take care of the Q channel of a dump, ergo subchannels.
So, i think now my modchip can make wonderfull rainbows and make coffe? your modchip can do this?

Master991 I think we can't understand each other...
Again redump cd images doesn't include the subchannel information; the SBI file is offered for download separately. They said that the file cannot be burned by normal means etc.. So, my images for MediEvil 2 NTSC and PAL do not include sub data. For clone cd images the subchannels info is inside the SUB file but I say now that I don't use the clonecd method.
The redump method includes the using of IsoBuster (for data tracks) and ExactAudioCopy (for audio tracks). If the game have libcrypt data you have to use psxt001z or CloneCD + psxt001z.
To say that my burned disc images include subchannel infos then your wrong my friend.
If someone knows better please correct me about the redump method and clonecd method.
