    Considering how people act when the topic of discussion is 1.5, I bet the guy killed the account just in order to avoid any fans whoring for a copy (which he clearly said he doesn't own). Also, I can't stop thinking about this reaction from someone who could get their hands on the proto while still thinking it's the holy grail of all that is good:

    I'm getting so lost, it sounds like some people are saying he really had the original game and was editing it, while others make it sound like he was doing his own project of some sort. Which is it? :s

    But what he really said in the facebook discussion was that he doesn't own the game, but knows who does.

    ^ There is no evidence of him knowing who has a copy?

    So were those screenshots from a "hacked" remake based on the apparent original, making this a "project"? Or is it the actual 1.5 prototype?

    All confusing.

    Either way what you see in some those images is imo real as half of those backgrounds aren't available to the public to use in mods (i.e from the Trial Edition).

    I just wish people would stop expecting a share the moment some material surfaces. It seems the only thing people ever think about is getting the game released to the internet and won't chill for a moment, be patient and quietly enjoy the material that was posted.

    I thought the leaked screenshots served as such evidence of him knowing who does have a copy?

    If there is evidence and are the screenshots.

    The screenshots are from the original game, without hack, except the image above shows a reconstruction of John (Kendo) texture, look:

    I'm just wondering when a release date is determined, or even, if there's a modding forum/site of this team so we can follow the process of what's being done?

    I doubt the second scenario is even possible because:
    1) Fans would immediately start bugging whoever is doing this with a release date, constant update requests, or even death threats like in the past;
    2) CAPCOM wouldn't just sit there and watch knowing their precious gem - which they tried to keep locked away from the fans for oh so many years - is getting a particular... "attention";
    3) If the person or the team doing this wanted to go public, you would have already had a website to check, but since nobody posted anything about it you can bet your wiener they don't want to for one of the reasons above or who knows what else.

    If a release is ever going to be, I'm sure somebody will leak other information or even a release data. For the time being there's no reason to sit in a corner and wait for the unbelievable to happen; it's certainly something I wouldn't suggest to hypochondriac people, at least.

    True, I know some fans are down right complete idiots when it comes down to 1.5. Sadly, the amount of people who take the game too seriously end up jeopardizing any light of day, but hopefully, and I'm guessing it's still good, this comes out soon.

    That's why a planned public release of a prototype or unreleased game must always stay quiet until the game is truly ready to be released.

    Defiantly true.

    Anyway, trying to compare the two factory shots, and it still has my brain buzzing.

    Has the truck moved or something behind the gate? You can see in the PSM video how the truck is obviously parked side ways, but in the new picture of this build, it look's different:

    No, they won't do anything these days. They will do sth only in case if you will start showing RE6 beta build pictures and will promise to release some betas.
    They are ultimately ignorant and even if someone will troll and contact capcom about the release they will say "Thank you for info, we will escalate it to revelant department".
    But of course re1.5 is capcoms IP and by being ignorant they don't lose their rights.
    Can someone tell me when people were jailed for releasing unreleased game which is 15 years old? The "gem" has monetary value for fans and collectors, but it lost its monetary value for general gaming community long time ago so capcom won't lose their time trying to jail someone - it will cost x00000$ for them, because of international litigation and attorney(s)+if the one who released it will be a troll - he may contact with press and it will impact on capcom's reputation.

    You can never know when it comes to prototypes. I remember Kamiya recently posted something about 1.5 on his twitter and he technically defined 1.5 as "shit" and a nightmare to work with. Sometimes I have the idea that they'd never want it to be released to the general public as they seem to treat it as a black sheep relative you'd prevent your friends to meet. :p

    Not long i suggest, the people who have it cannot take it to their graves. Of course it will be released one day, when someone sees the light.

    I don't see how 1.5 could have been a nightmare to work with. Maybe I won't understand untill I see the game with my own eyes, but surely you could make anything work with a bit of effort. The only thing I ever faulted with 1.5 is that the game seems to lack substance. Even though I've never seen the game in motion with cutscenes and voice acting, it seems like the characters are very bland with little personality and serve only to help progress the story. RE2 seemed to become a lot more epic and characters became more iconic, such as Claire Redfield and Ada Wong, while others who were harder to flesh out were killed off, such as Kendo and Marvin. I guess the way I see it 1.5 tried to do too much without being fleshed out and actually having that level of refinement to live up to what they had created. I still prefer the way 1.5 looks, I still think it had the stronger themes and art style, however seeing as they got Sugimura in to rewrite the scenarios I think I can understand why that was done.

    Wasn't the point in starting Flagship to bring more continuity to future Biohazard sequels, following the decision to rewrite Biohazard 2's ending? From what I've read on the subject, the original "1.5" scenario would have included a very solid conclusion, but once Capcom realised the potential value of this franchise it insisted on churning out more sequels instead, resulting in the one-two of BH3: Last Escape and Code: Veronica. Has it ever been confirmed how version 1.5 would have ended? I'm guessing the whole of Raccoon City was destroyed by some kind of controlled explosion, possibly as a result of the Umbrella laboratory's fire...

    Additionally, Hideki Kamiya's comments on 1.5 seem like a passive-aggressive stance to me. After all, wasn't he the leader of this project? If he's now disowning the whole era, it's probably because in hindsight he acknowledges the improvements made once Shinki Mikami took over development. Had the final BH2 proved unsuccessful, I suspect he may have become one of the biggest names pushing for 1.5's release. Instead, we're being told it's not worthy when I'd rather we at least had the choice to decide for ourselves. Besides, software creators haven't always been the best judges of their own work in the past.

    Seeing BH2 and 1.5 ended in the Umbrella Labs/Train, it seems it ended roughly the same way, but that's only my imagination. No idea seeing we never have nor never will see any FMV's in any builds that do get released eventually. Maybe someone else can clarify if there was info to it.

    Highly doubt the series could continue much past 3/Code Veronica if 1.5 wasn't canceled in the end, But heck, RE2 ended with the world being 'normal' again...then we enter RE3's plot which purely shows it was still chaos :D
