Info about Resident Evil 1.5

While it's understood members of the team are not involved with any known online communities, we do at least have one person here that has (what appears to be) access to those involved in this rather secretive restoration and release project. So, taking such points into consideration, I have a few comments to make and questions I'd like to ask:

Even though you are using a 40% complete disc as your base, it's clear many liberties are being taken with how to finish 1.5 to a satisfactory level, including the changing of details seen in media from later vesions. If ever a more advanced build - perhaps even the copy sourced by Inflames for his many site exclusive images - did surface, would "The Team" perhaps look into updating their work to ensure greater historical accuracy? If not, are you leaving the door open for other groups to provide their own interpretations of how to best fill in the various blanks later, or is your work being regarded as the definitive statement?

In this instance, I fear that many will look elsewhere in the hope something more faithful turns up further down the line... maybe even officially through Capcom when the powers that be realise this prototype has such a dedicated following and that Hideki Kamiya's opinion counts for very little these days. After all, this is a company always looking for an easy way to print money, and there can't be much easier than milking the remaining Biohazard/Resident Evil fanbase once it becomes obvious more recent directions taken in the series are no longer the guaranteed cash-generating moves they once were!

 

The main issue will be the availability of new material, and unlike what some people here pretend, nothing tells us another build is floating around. And I'm starting to wonder if the 80% build really adds a lot to what's already available with the so-called 40% version and the trial backgrounds.

My guess is that both the sewers and the lab might be drastically different/more complete, but we can't say for sure until we really know what's inside that 40% build. If scripts and cut-scenes are missing, then it will be hard to fix it without having access to more advanced builds. We'll see what happens, it'll be very interesting to compare that custom build with the original one.

Really couldn't give a stuff about this game, never understood the fascination with RE but it's cool to see that 1.5 is going to surface one way or another.

Does make me sad though to see how pathetic some people can get over silly little things, the talk of death threats etc make me hate humanity even more. Seems as if everyone seems to forget that one day they're going to die and there's much more to life than trolling on the internet over nothing more than a game.

Oh well.

I'm guessing this will be landing xmas eve/ xmas day yeah? Seems apt.

ahah you guys are da best. who never put a toy up on the videogame. for me thats the point of 1.5. the feel something new. amazing. like the 90's or our childhood. but i rather emulate on my pc gear. buying an old psX, dont want to be scammed by some sellers.

 

Hardcore lurker for several years, here. Have been keeping tabs on this thread for quite some time. I must say - this is all really exciting. Massive props to those who are working on putting out a finished product; this is truly remarkable for RE fans everywhere.

That's my logic too, but unfortunately some people seem content with just knowing they have something in their closet that only they have access to. Hopeless causes.

I'm hoping for a documentation from the team in case this ever gets released. Like what has been done to the original version they acquired and what they could use from other versions or what they had to made by themselfs.
But also what else they know about this 1.5 myth ... like how many versions realy exist, which of them are actually in the wild / possesion by somebody ... would be nice to know it from the guys who are pretty deep in that rabbit hole (that sounds pervert I know )

I'll bet you anything the people involved in this are probably regular members on this or other forums, or if not, they're reading this thread!
I'm becoming less interested in RE1.5 and more interested in the people working on it, they've obviously put a HELL of a lot of time and effort into it and probably money too.

THAT is dedication, and if capcom doesn't hire them or give them a whack of money if they release it then complete shame on capcon.
(They paid the guy that made the unofficial megaman vs street fighter and put their name to it)

Heck I'd love to buy the people working on this a beer.
