12F508 is great. It can be re-flashed if the code doesn't work. Simply find and use the hex code for "12C508" or "12F508" or "12C509" or "12F509". The same code will work on all these 4 chips and the install diagram is also the same.

pin 1 of modchip is +5v pin 8 is gnd. i take power from usb easy solder points now you need a 16v 1microfard capacitor the+leg of the capacitor goes to pin 6 of the chip the - leg of the capacitor goes to sx solder point os ps2 motherboard seek ps2 chip instalation diagrams to find the sx point for your motherboard

if you jumper between pin 1 and pin 4 or not it depents of what hex you will use. for example i use a 750x hex, that hex doesnt need jumper. this method it will not overide the region lock. pal games for pal consoles. ntsc for ntsc

no and no. you need a pal hex. i think a pal copy of import player, and... you put import player let it load, i think when import player load, the next disk is not checked for region. and swap with your ntsc backup, open and close lid normal. but wait you said you have a 50003 ps2 its an ntsc console the pal ones have 4 at last digit

no its a pal console i have pal and ntsc license ps1 and ps2 games and it load only pal games
i tried import player without mod chip
license ps1 game of pal region i swap it with import player in ule and run psxlauncher.
there is a video mode change option in import player but it not take an effect i think problem is in swap
i also tried ps1vmodeneg.elf like this
ps1 pal license->swap with import player->then run ps1vmodeneg->swap again import player with game. the game on my hdtv runs in 480i and i think in 30hz mode (because all my ps2 ntsc games run in 480i mode and pal games in 576i), but on old crt the tv recognize the signal after this swap method as pal
but real ps1 and ps2 (only ps2 games) work on that crt in ntsc mode without problem
if your words right and after running import player i can normally (open/close) change disc to ntsc backup then i think it can run game in ntsc mode but for now im dont have pic chip to try it))
    sorry for my english)
    and one question about programmer
how many watts will be this resistors?
    22k resistor
    2.2k resistor
    10k resistor

Didn't appexseal(sorry if that's wrong) release a version where it switches its self off and has 2 modes to allow originals and backups meaning no switch needed? think it was a modded version of old crow that will probably be the route I go. I believe it was the second to last version he released was best for pal as we don't have anti mod activated on our consoles so it just shuts off after so long.

also my programmer was £10 and works great always reads/writes/and verify's, only thing to note with the 12f508 is on my software I have to program it under 12c508 and erase under 12f509 or similar can't rember off the top of my head, you must make note of the oscal first as when erasing the 12f509?? it uses no oscal so over writes the 12f508 with ff I just convert and re enter it before programming.
