Hey Everyone, So I want to make a media box that can do medium quality integrated gaming. Which integrated graphics technology is better - ATI 3200HD or GeForce 9300?
>Integrated Gaming They're both TERRIBLE. Unless you're aiming to play stuff like, CoD1 and Quake 3. Do yourself a favour and find a 8800GT cheap.
Id go with the ATI chip, if only because I believe that nVidia has had more issues with their mobile chips being defective then ATI
If I had to choose... ATI. I have a laptop with the integrated 3200. I can play half life 2 and CS source just fine, but at 800x600 resolution, even though my lcd is 14inches...
If you have a look at the following link it has a comparison of various graphics including the 9300 and 780g/790gx (HD3200/HD3300). http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=3432&p=4
AFAIK, the ati 3200HD can playback blu-ray and HD video through the GPU. Anyway, both the ATI and nVidia are TRUE GPUs - they just use the system RAM & system bus.
