I am looking for what people think the price is on a few Intelligent Systems items. I don't own these. I want to know what the price would be complete in box and loose.

    • IS-NITRO-HUB
    • IS-NITRO-UIC (with and without MIDI)
    • IS-NITRO-VIDEO (with and without wireless)
    • IS-NITRO-CAPTURE (with and without wireless)
    • IS-NITRO-WRITER (with and without twl/ctr capabilities)

    IS-NITRO-DEBUGGER (with and without wireless/video/usg)
    • wireless, video, and USG all in one unit loose might be 20,000 - 25,000, boxed would be around 30,000 - 35,000 yen (I've seen a few on Yahoo with wireless and video for 30,000)
    • TL;DR: generally between 20,000 and 35,000 yen depending on what it's got.
    IS-NITRO-CAPTURE (with and without wireless)
    • I was selling these with and without wireless at first for $600 USD, which then dropped to $400 pretty quickly, and bottomed out at $200 as everyone started selling them. There was a guy on Yahoo Auctions that had hundreds of capture units and everyone was buying them up and selling them on eBay; I just so happened to be conveniently located in Japan, so I beat most others to the punch. The market seems to have normalised somewhat and they're semi-uncommon again, so I wouldn't be surprised if I saw them selling for between $350 and $400 USD in good condition. The same guy on Yahoo is now selling off his busted up units (missing ethernet ports, bent metal casing, DS controllers have broken screens, etc) and they're generally selling for 10,000 - 15,000 yen for two units in one auction. The flaws can likely be fixed with a little time and effort.
    • TL;DR: generally $350 - $400 USD.
I don't think IS-NITRO-VIDEO is a think, you might be getting it mixed up with the CAPTURE units. The IS-NITRO-WRITER is pretty uncommon, I'd say they could go for a bit more than a DEBUGGER or CAPTURE. Ask @Borman, I think he bought one a while ago (I may be mistaken, he may have bought a hub actually... Whatever, he can weigh in on this when he sees my tag :p).

Are those prices for loose ones or complete in box (capture)? I find it absurd that capture units cost more than emulator units. And IS-NITRO-VIDEO is a thing, just not very common probably because you could do the same functions on the IS-NITRO-EMULATOR with the upgrade. Also, Borman told me the other day he didn't have a hub.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the prices for CAPTUREs were specifically for loose ones. I've never seen a sale for a boxed CAPTURE so I wouldn't know their price, maybe just $100 more. CAPTUREs cost more than EMULATORs because they generally don't pop up as often, whereas kamukun on Yahoo has a seemingly large supply of boxed EMULATOR units.

Do you have any photos of an IS-NITRO-VIDEO? I can't find any information on them. Also, the IS-NITRO-EMULATOR and IS-NITRO-DEBUGGER are the same thing. The box says DEBUGGER, but the unit itself says EMULATOR.

Borman must have a writer then, I could've sworn he had something else NITRO related.

Yea, I know the emulator is what comes with the debugger kit; I only said debugger in the original post because I'm more interested in the full boxed version. Only pictures I have of the IS-NITRO-VIDEO are one tiny picture from ebay where the guy tried scamming by setting the shipping to 4000£ and some graphics shown by nintendo.

That's very strange, now I want one :p is it possible that it's just an early IS-NITRO-CAPTURE and they renamed it later?

Nope, theres both. IS-NITRO-VIDEO just outputs to TV and IS-NITRO-CAPTURE saves video/pictures to a PC

Nitro Video and debuggers were phased out as far as I can tell. Nintendo used the terms interchangeably after some point from what I looked into. It's not 100% clear, but I get the impression that they stopped using Video and Debuggers fairly early, not long after launch. Iffy on that though.

Captures are more expensive because they are more useful to fans. They play retail games. They output both through USB for picture and video with no sound, and AV for composite and svideo. Emulators don't play retail.

And I just bought an Emulator, which can write to flash cards too. The Writer can flash multiple carts though, which is it's advantage.

The Hub isn't necessary either, I attached the two capture units I had via crossover cable since they were both wired only, worked fine. Only have one capture unit now though.

There was never a unit called a debugger. They had a package called IS-NITRO-DEBUGGER kit that included the IS-NITRO-EMULATOR. I know the IS-NITRO-VIDEOs existed up until 2007 at least so they were probably never phased out. They were made to show your game off at public events.

There's some iffy terminology when looking at some of the old documents in regards to the debugger emulator thing. Could just be Nintendo being Nintendo.

Lots of companies used Nitro Captures for showing their games. I have pictures of a few somewhere. Existing and being available to developers to order can be two different things too.

Edit: I'll see if I can dig up the order forms sometime in the next few months. I'm sure I have some.
