is there a list of common internal rendering resolutions used by games?

Going by what I see on a Sony PVM 20L5 (professional grade CRT capable of 480p), most Xbox games, even though they are outputting in 480p, aren't actually rendering in 480p.

For example, there is a very noticeable difference in image quality beteeen Conker and Ninja Gaiden (both which look very sharp) compared to Panzer Dragoon Orta, Riddick, Phantom Dust, and many others, which are blurry.

Riddick switches resolutions, it's one of the early dynamic resolution games. Some have some weird post processing too, which doesn't help.

Some games use Anti Aliasing (Like Tony Hawk 2x IIRC) and others don't. You'd have to pixel count to figure out for sure.

Did you try to disable flicker filter to 0 in XBMC dash?

Yes, it's disabled; normally I would have my doubts that it's actually being applied, but Conker for example looks great, and as far as I know this isn't a per-game setting.

For what it's worth, the EvoX dashboard looks great in 480p (albeit noticeably darker than in 480i mode).
