This is going to backfire IMO: saying Firefox, Opera and Chrome users are crazy weirdos is not gonna get them any users back, and that phrase "Internet Explorer 9 can do more than download other browsers" is comedy gold, I never heard RMS making a joke like that.

Oh and IE9 still sucks donkey balls, nice try ballmer

Absolutely. Everything you visit is reported back to google, amongst other stuff.

I still see people complaining about shit that occured in 6 (when the mass firefox exodus happened) and was fixed in 7. These dicks haven't even tried the newer versions which have gotten better over time.

Firefox is a huge ram whore though, it's ridiculous, I don't have problems with crashing like others do but the ram it uses up is ridiculous.

Chrome just runs so much smoother for me, although Firefox is the best for addons support Chrome's performance is great.

Even with Google using my browsing habits doesn't bother me, it's a research thing. Although having choice WOULD be nice *hint*.
Many of you use Google as a search engine so your searches are tracked anyway.

All the browsers have good and bad points.

Chrome has one basic style and ignores what ever theme you have set on Windows, if you run say a Classic windows theme then Chrome looks ugly as it stands out against all the other windows, although it does load up each tab in it's on process it does take up a lot of memory. On the positive side it does run google sites like google maps quicker then Firefox and IE do.

Firefox is a bit of a memory hog, running say two windows and 6 tabs on each does take up more memory then IE does. Adding other search engines to the search bar is more a pain in the arse then IE8.

IE9 ignores the cleartype setting you set on windows and forces you to use it, only by downloading some .dll files from a third party can you turn it off. Search bar is gone, so searching can be more a pain in the arse then IE8. Does however tend to use less memory then Chrome and Firefox.

IE8 is the browser I tend to use because of IE9s short comings, but it's still slower and crashes more then Chrome and firefox.

Although I do hate Chrome and Firefox numbering, as in the space of a year Firefox has gone from 4 to 11.... even though most of the updates did not really add anything really major and in most terms it would be around 6.3 or something.

Consider Opera, great app, have some problems but nothing like the rest of the browsers.

Agreed, I'd be using opera if I wasnt using firefox. Plus, opera runs better than any other browser on older hardware/software (windows-based)

Agreed. I always grab Opera for any mobile device I'm planning to own for a while.

Also, regardless of how much Firefox + Chrome hog memory, I'll never use IE. Never.
Come to think of it I've never had an issue with memory and Chrome.
And let's not forget Safari- There's a memory hog.

My problem with IE isn't for web browsing, but for design. I am a web designer by trade, and MS still can't get their shit together. You either have to adversly bloat your code to compensate for IE's bugs, or only "partially" support the browser and let things slide. Its a huge pain, and I often spend hours doing a task that should take 30 mins tops.

I actually use IE9 as my primary browser.

I used IE until Firefox came out, then used Firefox until IE7 ripped off the tabs then went back to using IE and stuck with it ever since.

I tried a few others like chrome but they have little interest to me as Microsoft will plagiarise any decent features sooner or later anyway. I don't bother with RSS, I don't bother with checking my history in detail as my temp files are on a RAMdisk which gets wiped when the browser or closed or the PC reboots. I got 16GB of RAM so I don't really care how much gets eaten away by each tab as I have plenty of RAM to spare.

The other browsers have nothing of value to me, at least not on my main PC and laptop. I'd use chrome if I wanted to see the history of what people were looking at and when though but I don't let others use my PC unsupervised anyway :p
