The interface of Android OS is basically the same as the IOS. Except (at least the Galaxy S) tablets now have haptic feedback. The only thing the iPad had going for it, in my opinion, was the app store. And that is almost as good on Android OS now. We have both at work - for Android we have Galaxy S devices and they are great. You can take office docs on a SD card, work on them on the Galaxy S, then move them back to the PC. And they have Firefox. Perfect. We have 10 iPads and they are nice, but very limited in what we can use them for. Just for web surfing really, and the low resolution is not well suited to most websites.
^^ This is the biggest reason I'm not buying it, and maybe not buying an iPhone 5 either. It's just obnoxious. Every restaurant site I go to, where I want to read a menu online or something, uses flash.
Honestly the ipad is nothing more then an iphone blown up with the phone being taken out and an ebook reader added to it. In all honesty I think it was just made to get into the ebook market but they realized it be crazy to market it as an ebook so they decided to market it as something else. If I had fuck you money maybe I would get one, but for god sakes for that much i can get a decent laptop that lets me do more. I would only buy mac for editing, not personal use. Apple is like a luxury brand for electronics that has this young artistic image. I mean honestly it is a marketing mans cream dream. I think the mac book pro and the ipod were probably what allowed them to achieve this image. Plus just like someone mentioned alot of apple consumers just use the internet and do typing. Reason for this being is apple makes it's own hardware, so it's standardized and requires little configuration of anything or having compatibility issues with drives and such. Btw apple users forget the ipod didn't sell well till until could be used with windows. Still the ipad has potential to make editing with professional programs easier and intuitive, but no one really wants to bother considering most people who buy an ipad are really just buying it as something to mess with. It really just is an expensive toy to mess with, there really is no real use for it. I bet sony is kicking themselves for not coming up with this, or were they half way there with mylo?
