Having picked up an iphone two days ago I was wondering if anyone else had found any good games or apps to play around with. I picked up Super Monkey Ball and was actually very impressed with how that has turned out, even if they should have made the neutral area a bit bigger and easier to find. I find it almost impossible to be dead center and in Monkey ball that pretty much makes the more difficult stages impossible. I would be interested in any software that- Is a decent game! gets Skype on my phone Lets me make my own ringtones Playable games or any amateur game making group Stuff for ripping dvd to Iphone compatable format (you can tell I am a total tech noob so be gentle) Also if you will bear with me, is there any way to be able to see how far into a music track you are on the iphone, or how you can fast forward a music track. I am a bit in love with it at the moment. I was a little drunk last night and proclaimed it to be the best piece of technology I have ever used:lol: But that was just cos my girlfriend was sending me pictures every ten seconds to test out the email function.... So yeah any advice on how to get some more use out of thing would be appreciated.
Yeah, but these were uber hi-res email attachements. You can even zoom in on the sexy details!!! And she has fantastic details. It is like you can browse the internet on most budget phones these days, but just the quality of the image and scrolling on the ol iphone just makes it as good as using the internet, for browsing anyway.
Dude no one sends me hires pics on my iphone. Tell you what ill let you forward those images of your girlfriend to my phone and ill tell everyone what i think of its abilities edit: If your listening to a track go to the now playing screen and right under the name of the tune if you tap it a new overlay will apear to give you location and fast forward and so on.
Well my girlfriend is a model! It would be easier to google her... But thanks for the info, good for my downloaded audio books. Any recommendations on a Video conversion tool for a PC user like myself?
I don't know about a specific program to make ringtones, but you can do it on your own in a few steps. You'll need a sound editing program though to cut out the section of a song you want to use as your ringtone. The iPhone has a 40 second maximum length for ringtones. Here's the basic steps; 1) Create an mp3 of the ringtone you want to use. 2) Add the MP3 ringtone to your iTunes library and then convert it to AAC. 3) Delete the AAC version of the ringtone from your iTunes library (but not from iTunes folder) 4) Find the converted (.m4a) file in the iTunes folder and change the extension to .m4r 5) Double-click the file to open it in iTunes and it'll automatically be added to the ringtones "Playlist" and will sync to your phone the next time to connect to your computer. I found this information in the comments at this page: here <- That page shows how to do the same with GarageBand on a Mac. I haven't had to actually do step 1 yet, so I don't have a specific software I'd recommend. I've just been using existing short-length MP3s for my ringtones. (Currently using the codec from Metal Gear Solid on my phone)
I use phonezap to create ringtones on the fly. It lets you turn any audio file on your phone into a customized ringtone without any external hardware or access to a desktop.
Cube Runner is simple and easy, but its a free game so. Tap Tap Revenge is good and free as well. For the games you have to pay for, Crash is actually pretty good. And if you get adventurous and want to hack your phone...
So far nothing that a Palm Treo or a genric Windows Mobile phone can't do, well you can probably type messages in faster with a treo.
