anyone else get an iPhone? I did and I'm very impressed! I'm actually posting this from a Mexican diner as I wait for my food.The browser is top notch.
Far too expensive for my tastes. In my opinion, only certain electronics should be over $600: Laptops, TVs, high end electronics (Dishwashers, washer/dryer, fridge, etc). Should have been no more then $299, in my opinion.
jason, fair comment but untrue. At one point, some five years ago, I paid 800 euros for my Sony Ericsson P800. The P990i, my current phone, retails about 400-450 Euros. As with any new product, the first versions will carry a hefty price. Perhaps the iphone in a couple of years will have a friendlier price. For now, I want to read a full review of it
Buy a Nokia and a used iPod. Any recent phone (PDA or no) will have plenty of memory, SD slots for expansion, come with a plan you want, support MMS (unlike the iPhone), play music and games, get email, act as a modem, support Bluetooth and a bunch more, without being over priced and an easy target for theft. With a 2 or 2 year deal, you can get a great phone for free, with more features and a better plan. /marketing
It looks nice but it's waaay too expensive for what it is. My 2 year old MDA vario can do the same, it has touchscreen, WiFi, fold out qwerty keyboard, 1.3 mpixel camera, mp3/movie player, optional gps naviagation, the works. For something hyped as the ultimate gadget it's packing too little, i mean come on even a $150 pay as you go phone has a 2 mpixel camera, MMS and internet support via GPRS and usually an mp3 player with expandable memory as well (like the 3-4 year old SE K750 )
The interface really sells it. That may sound absurd considering the price, but it's one of those things that once you sit down an use it, you "get it". Besides, iPhone gets you chicks ^_^ Iv'e had a couple request to have photo's taken. I will post some later wen I get home from work. "Is that the new iPhone??? TAKE OUR PICTURE !!!"
So....back to the old days where everyone grabs their phone when the ringtone goes off and the same tone driving you crazy on the bus/train. At least with customised ringtone yet get to judge people when their phone rings
To be honest i think these new apple products like the Iphone are trying to take the sucess of the Ipod and put that into other products and thesse products don't seem to be as apealing as the Ipod was/is I am quite happy with my SE k750i and even with its ok media player you can just flash the phone into a w800i like i have and it becomes a decent music player and phone in one and there is lots you can do with it.
