Same as me. I didn't even bothered to use the W800 Firmware. I just updaded through SEUS and replaced the 64mb Memory Stick for a 1GB one. It's a great phone, with a good camera, good media player, and has tons of games. It's not the most advanced but it does what i want. Got Opera Mini and Gmail Mobile as well. And MyPhoneExplorer helps making backups of contacts, messages. So, i'm not gonna bother changing my phone anytime soon. PS: The only problem with the K750 is the damn joystick starting to go crazy and not doing what you want. Just open and clean it, and it's working perfectly again.
While i dont have an iPhone I personaly dont think it's all that great. Only advantage it really has is the multi touch display but given a year it will be in other cell phones. I would much rather spend $600+ on a nokia or sony-erricson phone over an ipod. I've got a 3 year old P900 and i still can do tons with it (just with companies would better support it with games).
good point subbie. I ve had my p800 and now P990i, and I often wonder why the hell they haven't bothered making proper games for it, like the DS. I bought my P800 way before the DS ever existed, and in my view it could at least pull off equally "innovative" games thanks to the touch screen. For some reason though, coders and developers on cellphones lack the imagination.
There are some nice games but nothing steller minus a few games (like the perfect lemmings port). What disapointed me the most is major companies like Gameloft/ubisoft not supporting it. Their games are some of the best cell phone games avalible. Atleast they suppor the latest phone in the series (too lazy to go check the model).
Thank God for ScummVM =) The latest version of the phone, P990i, has 64MB o' RAM, but upon boot, hardly 12MB are left available. This could be a major issue for RTS titles that could benefit from the existence of both a full qwerty keyboard and the touch-screen. I wonder if one can retro-fit more memory on a cellphone
What I don't like is that it's price seems a bit hight as well your forced to go with at&t service and pay extra fees for stuff even if you don't want it. Don't get me wrong, I think the interference and some it's feature are amazing. I really just feel like anything apple releases, its best by it's third version since steve jobs lets loose his controlling grip. Ex. ipods only working on macs in the beginning, safari barely being released on windows.
True, but $600+tax is not tailored to the casual person, its more for the tech junkie or businessman that uses things like internet on a daily basis. 1 iPhone is one months rent and several paychecks, and is far more then I would pay for something that is limited in what it can do. Granted, i'm cheap when it comes to stuff that isn't video games (I paid only 500 for both my washer/dryer combo, and got my fridge for free).
Mine is virtually the same battery life: talk time 8.8 hours standby 6.0 days weight: 176g features: 2 Megapixel camera 3G 4 x digital zoom Bluetooth technology camera flash digital zoom email external memory MicroSD infrared connection internal memory 128Mb MP3 player Photo Messaging Picture Messaging polyphonic ring tones quad band technology Qwerty keyboard speaker phone True Tones Video Calling Video Messaging wireless LAN Got it for nothing on a contract, so why pay $600 for the thing and then your calls as well?
It gives the impression that the iPhone (at least the actual version) is doom to failure, being a great product but with an obscene large pricetag (it is said that it costs $220 to make, so Apple is making almost $400 with every unit sold, plus royalties) and with the worst possible service/carrier: EDGE and AT&T. It may get better on the next gens, after all the 1G iPod was a friggin brick, and the 2G was just sligthly better, but it was the 3G (the slim one with the 4 buttons) that was small enough to not be as cumbersome as the others were, and that model was the one that pushed the brand into the mainstream. A BIG problem I see on it is not being business-compatible, cuz is big execs and such that like to buy shiny overpriced toys like this. BTW sonikku, whos the brunette next to that blonde? ;-)
and here I thought wasting money was the norm on these forums To be fair, I'm getting a lot more use out of my iPhone than I am out of my PS3 for the same price.
But you can't sit on the toilet in work and amuse yourself with a PS3... well you could but you might get some strange looks when you walk out of the cubicle...
Umm $600 and the camera is horrible?!?! Sorry but no phone that costs that much should have that camera in it...
