I Know its a kids game but it is really addicting! Are you over the age of like 12 and just cant get enough of Skylanders. I feel like a little kid playing theses games and collecting these little monsters. Its so much fun and the concept of the game is like genius! I just wanna know is there any other grown men or women out there having a blast with Skylanders?
I have cooped and beat both Skylanders with my son he has the complete original skylanders collection and all of the actually -Giants- that have been released , he doesn't collect the lightcore or the second series characters. But yes i will admit as cheesy and as gimmicky as the game is it is really fun and i have tons of fun playing this with my son.
I tried and couldn't get into it. So I gave Dark Spyro to my brother who has a huge collection of Skylanders for his XBox 360 and sold the other 2 along with 3DS game on Craigslist.
I don't have time or money for this shit, when you collect Saturn games, a kids series revolving around buying figures, isn't something you can get into. But I do think it's a genius idea.
I know another member of this forum who has a closet addiction to Skylanders but I'd be surprised if he admitted it publicly; if he did he'd use the 'it's for my daughter' story! You know who you are... haha
it's basically taking pokemon to the next level. i've never played it really but seems a good ideas and i suppose in a few years the figures will be collectible if not already. it wouldnt be something i'd be into personally.
I saw how much the poorly made figures were in Tescos and thought fuck that. Someone in the marketing department must have gotten a fat pay check for coming up with that idea. I'd hate to be a parent whose child is a fan of Skylanders.
It's a money printing game, why Activision is behind all of it. Stupid concept, as it's basically monster rancher with figures...
Sky landers is probably the most genius money making scheme I've seen in a long time. It's reminisce of kids TV shows and how they were always used to push a line of toys. To have a game where in order to play you have to collect the toys is pretty damn clever.
I casually play this game. The game is just a button masher with no real strategy to it other then dodge. And figures that save data like levels and exp points are definitely not a new idea. Being implemented into an actual video game, maybe but I have seen pokemon toys for a stadium game that does this and that's from like 1999 or 2000.
I play them with my kid I had the first set and the giants. But this damn game make holes in the pocket.
I guess every year or so the collect em all copy cat products will be released we have / had such as pokemon, digimon, skylanders and soon https://infinity.disney.com though it will be interesting to see how far this can go.
I don't even know what it is, or all the fuzz about it. Since I don't like Spyro, I don't care about it's existence. This and soccer games...
