Is anything even remotely interesting going on at TGS?

Yes. Go read Kotaku a bit. They asked Asada at the TGS.

Yeah I didn't realize there was a link.

in the interest of fairness why IS the 360 getting all this shmup love? ease of delvelopment or is that where the Shmup fanbase is?

Because, GOH, it's insanely cheaper to develop on 360. The smaller companies can't afford to make PS3 games, especially considering it's a genre that doesn't sell many copies.

I think the only one the PS3 has is Sondiner X

    Again, just being fair.

    and kinda proving a point

I wish they'd leave the silly damage-modeling business out of Gran Turismo.

If you hit something with any material amount of force or go off-course for more than 3-4 seconds, the race should just be over, like in Tourist Trophy. Real race cars don't keep going after they plow a wall at 60mph. It's dumb.

Exactly. Like i said, to have a cheap and terrible damage system, i would prefer to have no damage at all, like in previous GT's.

Anyway, PD still has 6 months of work to make it decent (at least to match Forza damage system).

Best thing for me this year was the fact level 5 gave out a playable demo of Ninokuni, the one game i have been dying to play. (don't worry mark i finally got my hands on it, no original needed now hehe)

Studio ghibli for animation, level 5 for the rpg = fantastic match. The amount of beautiful animation in the game demo is unreal plus it has a full orchestral soundtrack too.
