You maybe can convert elf to bin and make it autboot, should to run as regular dreamcast selfboot...

Mine i believe comes from R3.

No. I was running on NullDC emulator.

I only have retail Dreamcast consoles and don't work with it... Only on emulator... I don't know exactly why...

The proto-demo I have, have 5.454.912 bytes adn the original data of the files is 1 july 1998.

But the textures are from 11/20/1997, then seems that SEGA was working on it since that time. I'm not sure if Core made this demo, I believe only was a rumour and was always done by SEGA.

Omar, do you mean you have SDK R2?

And by the way... how many Dreamcast SDK was leaked and floating in the WWW?

ryo i don´t have a katana, and nor even with dos i was able to do a convert, maybe a compiler program should do the job.

the ginsu demo didn´t work on dreamcast or nulldc.

far as i know 3 were leaked, but only two, R9 and R10 was known by many, ive never found R11 for download, but looks like few years ago there was a leaked beta, R12 was only used by sega.

The version I tried in NullDC doesn't work. I tried several different methods too (loading it as an ELF, loading it as a BIN and building a CDI with the ELF converted to a binary). How are you loading the version you have (which version of NullDC and what are your settings?), Ryo?

i ve made ginsu tech demo to works, you have to rename manifest.bin to 1st_read.bin, and in the ginsu.ini file too, i am uploading the .cdi.

for some reason in katana r10.1 the file test.cfg in dreamon build folder, there are the controller buttons, but when you see the ESP (spanish) controls you will see that they are from racing games, you can see things like brake, accel, turn, change camera, but there isn´t any racing demo in this sample.

But they always included the f40 from scud race in these samples, so i presume that the game was cancelled only when dreamcast died.

i ve uploaded the ginsu demo, but only the tileclip and teapot runs, and tileclip is unstable.

looks like the rest will only run in a development box.

That's because the boot disc was built upon that code

Interesting, I have two (Set2.1) and I also wonder how rare they are...

The first videos of the Set2 demos were on my own site, I had to record them using a camcorder in front of a VGA monitor, oh man the quality was so bad...

Any links to the videos just out of curiosity?

Anyway, I remember playing Scud at a local "Movies 8" which shows older movies(3 month old movies sometimes) for only 50 cents on Wednesdays, SUCH a deal! :) They still do it to this day, but they cost 1 dollar per movie on regular days.

So yeah, the first time I played it I saw the graphics and was blown away by them. So realistic for it's time. Wasn't this arcade released in 97 or so?

I know I had some game on my Saturn that was like it, but like Sega 32X graphics. It was some GT game, forget the name, but it looked like a 3D 16bit version of Scud on the Genesis/Mega Drive, but on Saturn lol.

Virtua racing was it! Yeah, it has been over ten years since I owned it, but it was so primitive looking even for the saturns standards with 3D games. I know the Saturn was capibal of more realistic than that, but I enjoyed it becuase it was kind of like SCUD.

Well, Virtua Racing on the Saturn was a mediocre port of what was a 5 year Model 1 game even then. The game had also been released on both the MegaDrive and 32X by that point after all...

And the 32x version is a million times better. In fact, even the Mega Drive game plays better but thats what you get for letting idiots like Time Warner handle the port.

Hey mate, sorry I don't noticed this post from you.

I ran it converting to CDI with the ELF converted 2 binary and regular autoboot method.

As elf is not running, I don't know why (it says some error in the DOS windows, but i don't remember)

Nothing special about NullDC version or settings. Just runs, but no textures.

I have to test it again. Have the version do you have textures in another folder outside the binary?

And BTW my proto don't seems to be a rolling demo like the vids, only you can run the camera throught the circuit and change the render methods and things like that. It seems compiled to testing purpouse with debug options, you know?

I think a playable version never exists. Only rolling demos (I would like be wrong but I don't think so)
