Death Note sucks balls after the first season.

I think the problem with Anime now is most things have been done, we have gad transgender/species families, schoolkid love triangles, big swords, big robots, girls in short-shorts with big guns, overtly complex stories, arty but vague to the point of being shit (Texhnolyze...) so there's not a lot left to start with. They are just playing it safe with the usual:

14 year old student/magician/gang member with glasses who has never had a girlfriend/girlfriend died/girlfriend left the country

Female neighbour/teacher/robot/alien falls in love with him

Neighbour/teacher/robot/alien's sister turns up and tries to steal the boy away

Boy gets a fever from studying too hard, but gets better

Frighteningly underage kid turns up off the street/from Osaka/Hiroshima with strong accent

Frighteningly underage kid declares undying love, boy is "touched" (but not in that way) nobody seems to think this might get creepy and call the police

    Someone cries

They all end up happily ever after, boy with one of the girls, but they all still live together.

If you want something clever to watch, try Liar Game, it's not Anime, but it's a very clever Japanese TV program.

At this point I want some older shit like Hokuto No Ken, Jushin Liger, Tiger mask, Superbook, Vintage 80s stuff.

I've been branching off into Japanese live action. Tikashi Miike is one fucked up dude.

What's your beef with Naruto? It's pretty funny and has good character development IMO. That said, I agree with the rest (although I've never seen Garzey's Wing).

Yeah Naruto is pretty fun to watch. I won't say it'll ever be a classic for breaking new ground The Naruto games are for the most part pretty good and even the bad ones on GBA are alittle fun.

It kinda Arcs the same way Dragon Ball does but keeps the Villians Constant not having new ones every 60 episodes. I'm just wondering where this whole thing is going I'm sure there's going to be a concrete ending at some point sooner or later.

Naruto, just like DBZ falls into the standard shonen genre, with long arcs, enemies that get better every time and lots of f*cking fillers because the anime is catching up with the manga. Hunter X Hunter, Bleach, Naruto, Prince of Tennis, Dragonball, Eyeshield 21, Kiba, D. Gray Man etcetera all fall into that category.

And Death Note remains a good show, even after the first season imo. You gotta bite through 25-30 but after that it gets real good again!

Another series I am currently in love with is Nana. Drama, rockworld and intriging characters make for one sweet combo!

I started downloading Naruto Shippuden for when Cartoon Network reaches fillers which is going to be soon I think

I tend to like really Dark Twisted shows like Lain, Elfin Lied and the like, I'd watch Bezerk but I hate non endings.

    Deathnote concludes soon right?

Tell me you've seen the non cartoon network versions of Nartuo... I mean... they're OK but they are really cut and censored - I'm not 100% up to date with the most recent episodes but I've definitely seen everything they've shown on CN and then some - I watch the CN ones with my daughter (it's her favorite show - i had no influence in that, she doesn't even know I watch the Jap episodes) and while it's nice to have English language it's still not as good as the real deal.

Anyway - I never could get into DBZ. I dunno why. Maybe because the fights consisted of them charging up for 20 minutes. I do like Prince of Tennis - and I can't figure out why I like that either.

I've seen a few Japanese Episodes of Naruto yes. I rarely watch Dubbed anime unless said show takes place outside of Japan and the show makes more sense in Japanese

^ what? By dubbed, do you mean the English dubbed or Japanese dubbed? Unless the show takes place outside of japan and makes more sense in Japanese?

Gunslinger Girl and Noir for example.

Neither Takes place in Japan so do you think it makes sense for French people to speak fluent Japanese?

Makes more sense to watch it in english even if they are speaking with no accents.

Best Dub was Hellsing since they actually had British accents in the English Dub.

No, the best dub ever was Cowboy Bebop. The voice acting for that show was really good, unlike most other anime that ends up on Adult Swim...

Highlander The Search For Vengeance, is a smashing great anime. So there are still great animes being made. Even if you aren´t fond of the Highlander universe.

I hear The Highlander anime sucks but the version we got isn't the one the directed wanted out so they are going to release a directors cut later this year.

ANYTHING is better than Highlander the source for a movie that claims there can be only one there sure is a lot of shitty spinoffage Highlander should have just been that one movie. It's timeless but they had to give it so much bullshit. I don't care that Edge was in Endgame.......it still sucked. (curse of the wrestler in a movie....wrestler in a movie=movie sucking unless it's Andre the fucking giant in the Princess Bride)

I'm going to wait for the directors cut before I check the movie out. I'm a huge fan of Highlander, Ninja Scroll and Vampire Hunter D so I'll see it suckage or not.

I loved season 1. Season 2 was good too, but it was severely dramatic. I would like to see the original subtitled versions, however, as I hear TONS of content was cut. Over 7 minutes was cut in the episode with Puppetmon, I believe.

Oh, and speaking of dubs, the English Dub of Jojos Bizzare Adventure = TERRIBLE

Dio (Japanese version) : Muda da! MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA....!

Dio (English version) : Its POinTlesS! GOBBLEGOBBLEGOBBLEGOBBLEGOBBLEGOBBLE...!

I've been craving some Hokuto No Ken for a while now.

Game, Anime, nuclear holocost where I have to save innocent people by busting heads (literally)
