No, 've not played it yet. Been hammering away on Initial D. The first Onechanbara on the 360 is pretty poor. The graphics are low resolution and the game play is so dull. The Wii game is much better. Z did look good in the promo films though. I'll check it out tonight.
Really? Hmm that's a shame to hear since I've wanted to play that game ever since I owned a 360 I tried out One Special on PSP but missions are in Japanese...
Well, I gave Onechanbara Z a 2 hour play today and I can say it's far better than the first game. Graphics now look HD, controls feel tighter, missions are more intuitive, cut scenes are actually real cut scenes this time rather than text boxes, there are way more zombie variants and it's actually fun to play. Over all a much better game than the first.
I think it's a real shame you had to resort to an imperfect slim machine. At least you can play Initial D now though!
I could understand a PS3 because they all have 2 lasers, but don't all PS2's only have a single laser? So laser near death and struggling with a higher-capacity format?
No they have two lasers from what I can tell. The CD laser sits above the DVD laser. So I'm guessing that the DVD laser has to beam through the CD laser lense to read the discs. That how it looks when you take one apart anyway.
Yakumo, I can't believe what I'm reading, you bought a PS2??? The console that killed the Dreamcast!!! Is it what this world has now come to??? ;p
hahaha, yeah but every game I own on it is a Sega title As mentioned, I've always had an interest in the 3D AGES series even though some of the remakes are a bit crap. Some are amazing though. I'm going to play Galaxy Force II in a minute on it.
The PS2 GFII is cool, but my new favorite version of the game has to be the 3DS version, since it's one of the few games that really benefits from the 3D. It looks awesome.
Good lad I was only teasing you I own a PS2 and a PSX ;( 3D Ages games are indeed interesting, I only have Space Harrier right now but I've played quite a few of them, GF2 is indeed cool. I like Panzer Dragoon and Fantasy Zone.
That was possible even when the PS2 was current gen. On the FAT consoles you need an official Ethernet adapter or one of the cloned hard drive adapters (they didn't clone the Ethernet unfortunately). On a slim you have Ethernet built in, but you need to solder in a hard drive interface to it (they are cheap and I've been tempted). But you can stream most games from a NAS using open ps2 loader (some games have problems with cut scenes as currently the throughput you get with streaming the games is less than from a DVD). As long as you don't have one of the latest slims (I think it's just the ones with the built in power supply) then you can use freemcboot to run open ps2 loader without ever having to open up the console. Utopia killed the dreamcast, well that and poor games. I have a dreamcast, but I have no idea why. Are there actually any games worth playing?
Glad you got a working unit Yakumo. Sony quality is terrible yes, but you have no luck with them either =p Still, try finding a good Fat PS2. PS2 with an HD is great. PS: By the way, are you using a D-Terminal Cable -> Framemeister -> TV Setup? Could you post pics and opinions on how it looks? Try finding Metal Slug Anthology and some other compilations like Gradius III / IV. I know you're not a big fan of Sony, but the PS2 has got quite a library of games.
I have a SCPH-70011 (Canadian Model/Version, i've got one in release day, if i don't mistake myself), and i had to change three times the laser reader, only because of pirated games (here in Brazil, the original games have an enraging price, and pirated games are more popular) and blue disks... That's why i only have 11 games on my collection
