    Hi there,

Months ago, I've bought the IS-NITRO-EMULATOR, and got it working on Windows 8 Developer Preview somehow.
However, I've got a new Laptop, which I bought to go deeper into programming, as I wanted to specialize myself into Console Development.

    Now my problem is this:
My Laptop runs Windows 8 Pro, but the IS-NITRO-EMULATOR doesn't seem to like it, and drivers are not installable.
I've decided to set up a VirtualBox installation with Windows XP Professional SP3 on it, neither that was a success.
But this time, it's not that my Drivers didn't want to install, it was because my Laptop only has USB 3.0, and VirtualBox doesn't seem to like it.
I've tried to install Windows XP Mode on Windows 8, but Windows Genuine Check gave me an error about not being able to check it (to new OS? Because I do have a valid (student) license).
VMWare is basically setting up everything too, but it seems like an option.

My last hope would be a Dual-Boot setup, but then the problem is, I probably have to start all over with my Windows 8 Pro setup.

Anyone has a solution on this?

VMware's USB 3 support on ESXi has it noted as 'EXPERIMENTAL', plus if you're using a 64-bit OS then I'm guessing the drivers for the NDEV aren't signed so won't install.

    64-bit OS? D'oh! Of course!
That explains, my iMac runs a 32-bit Windows OS, that's why it works on that!

What you should try doing is this, if you are willing to dual boot. This is what I had to do to get Xp running on my 7 machines. The sata controller which should be able to be adjusted from BIOS needs to be changed from AHCI or SATA to something like raid or IDE, either of which will work. Because of the differnce in controllers a lot of features on XP will probably run into problems. The only problem that comes along with this is to switch between OS's you need to change the one setting in bios.

Try a different USB port. My IS-Nitro-Emulator would only work on one specific port under VMWare (and I have USB 3.0 ports as well), the others did nothing.

Very kind of you, but like I've said before, it's solved now.
