    Hi,
I´m just wondering for how many of us here the system they started gaming with is their favorite system?

If it isn´t for you, feel free to state why.

(I hope there´s no other thread like this, at least I didn´t find one)

For me it is the Original Xbox by the way, just gotta love this monster :love2:.

Since I was born before systems were around, no. My only options for favorites would be the Fairchild Channel F or the Atari 2600 and they aren't my favorite (Sega Saturn).

You may be right for most people born later. I see a lot of love for one terrible system and many have said it was the first system they played as a kid.

I started out with a Commodore 64 before moving onto a Master System II, SNES, Megadrive, N64, PSone, Dreamcast, XBOX, Gamecube, Wii then PlayStation 3 but as fun as they are/were at the time I can honestly say no. Nintendo 64 + Dreamcast are my loves, though I only really collected for Dreamcast.

NO because my first system was an ATARI 7800.

Although it was great for the time, and I loved to play, obviously when I got hold of a NES I was overwhelmed by the greatness of it,

I'd have to say though, that my favourite console of all times is the SNES.

It's the one that has given me the best playtime of my life. :D

Started out with the PSX then went to Gameboy/GB colour, PS2, Gamecube, DS, Psp, Xbox, Wii, Xbox 360, Ps3.

    order of Favouritism

    Xbox 360
    PSX
    GB/GBC
    GC
    Ps2

id say the xbox 360 as it was the first console i really took a great interest in didnt really care before then was more a social gamer LoL.

No because my first "console" was a Sinclair Spectrum ZX.

Followed by a Master System II, then an Amiga 600 and eventually a Mega Drive.

It's a tie between the Amiga and Mega Drive for me although the Dreamcast nearly took the crown once.

    Yes.

I consider the Playstation 1 as the first console that got me into gaming. I had played the SNES and Mega Drive a little before that but i never owned either of them.

I used to play the playstation at my friends house quite a lot because i got him into the PlayStation from his N64 so we'd play Resident Evil and Fifa all the time as well as any new game one of use had got.

No, because I'm an old(ish) bugger and my first console of sorts was a Binatone or similar Football/Tennis/Squash TV game from about 1977/78.

As for my favourite it's either the Saturn or the Dreamcast and in third place is the Neo Geo. For me SEGA always had the best hardware (excluding the blip that was the 32X) and the games just had that certain indefinable 'something'. Now it's a different ball game entirely but now and again there are flashes of the old genius. If they eventually do go under completely it'll be the saddest day in gaming history.

Another "no" from me - I started with an Atari ST, while my favorite is the SNES. Mostly due to its huge library of excellent JRPGs.

Started with a Master System -which I still love- but my favorite system will always be the Saturn.

Yes. I basically started out with the SNES and Genesis with an NES on the side.

No. First console was an SMS, first computer before that was a BBC Micro. I wouldn't rank either terribly high on my list of gaming platforms.

No, started with game & watch and that later evolved to nes and amiga. Can't enjoy either today. Snes and genesis is for me as good as it got in 2d. Then a jump up to gamecube, ps2 and dc for 3d. Then everything went bad.

If PCs are a valid choice, then yes. I played my first games on a PC, I still remember them to this day, they were Striker and Tom & Jerry, the T&J one was really cool.

The first console I played was the Sega Genesis, and that bastard is my favourite console to day, it had amazing games for the time. A friend of mine (which I haven't heard from for the past 14 years...) had a COMPLETE Genesis collection, everytime I went to his house I drooled, that kid had a ton of games.

I started with the 2600, and while I still play it regularly and it's so, so awesome, my all time favourite console is the SNES, by far.

Also, I don't know whether the 2600 is what got me into gaming. It was the first console I played, but it was my brother's console. The first gaming machine I had that was my own was a Commodore 64 - also one of my favourites, but not number one at all.

    My brother's Atari 2600.

But it was the Master System and the Mega Drive that really made me a gamer. Arcade games have a share on this as well.

But to be honest is difficult to choose just one favourite.
