Couldn't say. I'm leaning towards no because of how poorly put together the insert is. But who knows..
That is so badly made. I'd say fake, usual Microsoft discs, or related discs would have "Do not make illegal copies of this disc." You notice the CD art on the cover it's self? This screams fake.
I'd go with no. The cover is put together horrifically, with the disc art haphazardly thrown off-center, and why would it have the back of the retail game instead of listing the DVD contents? Something about the disc printing looks fishy too, but I can't put my finger on it. I spent nearly 5 years working for a disc manufacturer, so it may just be that my eyes are playing tricks on me. The seller may not know it's fake, I'd say it is. Their other auctions are REACHING for attention and their 2 negative feedback are for fake items.
This making of "HA LO" DVD is pretty obviously fake, considering the front cover has the hole in the middle of the disc printed on it.
Just reading the his obnoxious "I've got feedback......do YOU?" description already told me this guy was a douche. Hate it when sellers word stuff like you're missing out on a deal. Just makes them sound like spam mail. Who needs that in a seller? I like how for a making-of, the CD itself makes zero mention of that anywhere. In fact, besides the side spine, it doesn't say it anywhere.
Why buying it when you can watch it on youtube. As it says on his title description - "Promotional MAKING OF HALO rare DVD - Never Sold In Stores -Original Xbox Behind of scene of the making (game title) with disc, are free copies, never sell as a copy. Check this from same seller. http://www.ebay.com/itm/RECALLED-Xb...0382?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item2c6ccaf13e edit] Twin tower on PGR cover is true. Sorry Ebay seller, my fault.
The Legit disc does not come with a cover or anything. I happen to have that DVD, it's not worth it AT ALL
I'm pretty sure I have the disc somewhere around as well back from when I had a roommate who worked retail and brought home some random halo kiosk and display crap, but as mentioned above, that was definitely NOT the case it came in- I'm pretty sure that back panel is just copied from the retail game or similar...
Looks like your eyes ARE playing tricks on you ... and your knowledge of the Halo franchise. Clearly you must've jumped on the Halo bandwagon well into the series and were not around from the beginning, when these discs were produced. You say you worked for a 'disc manufacturer,' well I worked for Microsoft at the time of the Xbox and Halo launches. You may not be familiar with them; they're a little, upstart software company responsible out of the Seattle area. Oh, and when you mentioned the TWO negative feedbacks (both from the same user), you failed to mention the 786 POSITIVE feedbacks. Talk about truth in advertising...eesh. :concern:
The auction states that it came on just a sleeve, so the insert is self admittedly home made. Disc is legit...interest is piqued. And the back of the case isn't from the retail game, it has a T rating but the game you know is M.
Thanks for doing your homework. And doesn't it start to raise some red flags when you see a whole lot of 'insider' memorabilia... maybe enough to think, hey, this stuff MIGHT actually be real? Why would someone put so much effort into making these odd, little items, then list them for just $10? Not really worth the risk, if they weren't confident they're real. Just do a little web browsing and you'll see all the stuff IS real.
Oh, Bramsworth, you really ARE a douchebag, aren't you? Open mouth-Insert foot. Kinda looks like the tide has turned against you. You see, when you make claims like yours, withOUT doing the research to back it up, you really look foolish. Now we see that the disc IS real and that you clearly don't know much about the history of Halo. Have you ever played the game? FAIL.
The pre-release boxes were sent to retailers assuming the game would eventually get a TEEN rating, but that never happened. The sleeves were recalled and destroyed by Microsoft. Since the DVD was shipped on a piece of cardboard, retailers started using the pre-release case to store it and display it. The modified cover you see in the listing is what this is.
interesting that the top screen shot has the Beta HUD that shows a lightning bolt next to your shield meter...and orange health bars.
I'm not a Halo fan and have never played it, but no average Halo fan would know of this disc I bet so.. mind telling me what that has to do with anything? At least I didn't make a new account for the sole purpose of posting in this topic and defending this disc like I've insulted someone's child. You might try explaining to people they're wrong in a more polite manner rather than saying fail and acting like a fanboy. Can't say I feel wrong about the seller being a douche part of my post BTW I didn't do any Google work before assuming it's fake. My mistake. Talk about a shitty disc though, can't believe they made something so unprofessional looking.
