Irony here is I actually agree with you. However, I don't see why you need to bring in derogatory terms to indicate political beliefs in a thread which has NOTHING to do with political affiliation. My point was that while I am unbothered by this poster, I can imagine it riling some people (and obviously, it was intended to do so). You responded to that by blaming blacks and people with left-wing political views, which is exceptionally narrow-minded.

The one thing that can be said for sure about this advert is that it's fulfilled one main objective: 20 responses and over 165 views.

About the Pinko issue, yes, the word offends me. I come from a family of communists, and Pinko is the derogatory term for that political affiliation (and those associated with it). It's almost like calling every american christian republican a "fucking redneck". Which they are not. Many of my best friends are conservatives, and we have very fun and civil political discussions.

Anyway, back on topic: The ad really fucking sucks and it wasn't very tactfully produced, even if the visual component gets the point across.

I think people are reading too much into this ad. If the white person was wearing a KKK outfit then it would definetly be racist, but as it is it looks like the two are about to get down to some kinky sex, or maybe start breakdancing.

 

I think it's more a case of extreme political correctness in the USA (and the same for the UK too these days) which makes people react to anything connected to colour, but I won't open that can of worms by giving examples.

Tell me; why is it that whenever anyone even mildly implies that an image or an idea is racist or otherwise derogatory, instantly every one screams "political correctness!" To me this is a meaningless buzz-phrase.

I will concede that there are probably some institutions that oppress people in the name of "political correctness", but those are not what we are talking about. We are talking about mere individuals voicing their opinion about something that they consider prejudiced for one reason or another; it isn't as if they are demanding that laws be made to ban this type of material. It seems to me that people who are constantly invoking "PC" are stretching things way out of proportion and drawing conclusions between things that are in no way related; they act as if a sentiment opposed to some sort of prejudice is tantamount to restricting the freedoms of others to even mention the prejudice. There is an undertone in the phrase of some sort of oppression.

I can't speak for all of the people who sometimes become indignant about material such as this (although in the case of the Sony ad I actually think, as many have said, it's just a little distasteful), but I would never want any sort of personal expression to be limited in any way, regardless of how offensive it is to me or to anyone else. Therefore is seems stupid to me for people to become indignant, saying that the whole nation has become a sterile, heartless wasteland, just because I say that I am offended by something derogatory on a piece of paper. I think they just want somebody that they can easily blame for all their problems because they are too weak to face their problems head-on.

People like Carlos Mencia act as if they are some sort of martyr by not being what they call "politically correct". They act as if the mere act of rebelling is praiseworthy even if what they create with that freedom is shit. In the example of Carlos Mencia, I think he uses it as an excuse to make shitty comedy. And in the case of boards like this, I think people use it as a way of getting out of justifying their own prejudice.

Sorry if that was a bit long, or too political. If so, just tell me and I'll move it to the unmoderated thread.

The problem is simple: the joke would be funny if those models were side-by-side, but the way they seem to be fighting, and how the while model grabs the black model's face reminds people of any image of racism you can find.

On the other hand, I see several rappers making bad (to say the least) comments about white people, yet nobody dares to say they are being racist. Shadowlayer: the South American commies, has nothing to do with socialism, look at the word So ci a lism. Just like once upon a time in a land, now known as so many names, that is isn´t funny living in it at the time of being, even though I live in it, and fight for the humanistic socialism in it still. Since there are still true socialist powers to be, even though they are getting fewer by the numbers.

There once was a real social democratic movement, and alot of other good stuff there, but that thing is so long ago, and gone. Socialism could also be called communism to some, but that has never worked really, so socialism is really not communism, or Marxism now adays. But still humanism, and socialism goes hand in hand, in my mind.

And "rubbish humanism" has destroyed too much, when it was used with the social democratic ways back then. Since I am seeing what "rubbish humanism" (humanism is not rubbish, but extremely naive humanism = rubbishhumanism).

So when I think humanistic thoughts, they are also socialistic thoughts. Because I am not an extremely naive humanist. And what the Southern American jungle "commies" , they are terrorists(or just the pure enemy anyway to me), and they
have nothing to do with socialism, and neither do Cuba have with socialism.

So I am not ignorant, I am just more open minded than the most people are sometimes anyway.

And I still think, that religious fanatism, or political fanatism (or any kind of fanatism) breeds stupidity and ignorance. And alot of other bad stuff. And Xerdopwerko is one of my friends, and he knows how I am about those kinds of stuff.

 

I've no doubts about socialism, hell FDR was a socialist no matter what people say, and he's one of the greatest presidents of all time.

About cuba, well I'm kinda neutral in that scenario. My grand-grand father went to cuba once in 1946 during the batista regime, and what he saw was bad to say the least. He called it "america's whorehouse" mostly because the entire country was a huge-casino with hookers in every street, and the rest of the people was either dying from starvation or working as slaves in sweatshops.

While I've never been in the communist cuba, for what I heard there's no more whorehouses, and while the population isnt living the american dream (nor anything near that) they arent dying from starvation anymore, and health care is free for all.

So in that case we could say things are a little better. Yet in other cases it would be better to keep things into socialism/capitalism.

I once read an article about gorvachev (last soviet leader) wife. Back in the 80s she was known as pierre cardin's best buyer. Hell, the whole high-end of the soviet government was living like in beverly hills, making parties and going into shopping trips to italy and france while the rest of the population had to wait months to get a pair of cheap shoes.

Anyway, I think capitalism is too big to explain as just ONE system. I think the world is divided between 3 types of economic systems: socialism (the european capitalism), corporativism (american capitalism) and communism (cuba and others).

 

There's a theory that says that for things to be the way they are and have always been, there's probably a good reason, and this tendency is the right balance overall, so its benefit driving the world and the augmantation of that benefit is the goal of every country, communist, socialist, capitalist of what have you. The goal is the same, the overhead changes, but deep within the control remains mostly intact on the masses. Like it or not the world is never going to change to be a "better" place, because it's natural tendecy for us to elect a leader or have a leader to take care of *our benefits*. So be happy about things the way they are and let's stop dreaming about cloud coo-coo land

 

Denmark is pretty damn close. 40-60% tax last I checked and proper welfare state living. Seems to be working ok last I checked, I'm sure WolverineDK will chime in here to back me up.

Regardless, the statement "Socialism can never work because humans are instinctively greedy" is easily parodied by the similar statement that "Capitalism can never work because businesses will abuse humans for profit". Clearly neither prevent the respective systems from existing.

I propose that if we wish to carry out this debate any further it should be moved to the political forum.

I am backing you up Sir, but the thing is, thanks to to the government we have right now is licking the arse of Georg W Bushwacker junior, then our jerk of a prime minister has been cutting all good social things, and promissed more tax dedcutions, and other bad stuff, so we are becoming in some ways too American (my fellow American friends, don´t take it as an offence), and I don´t want Denmark to become mini America, since I like to pay a high tax, and getting my hospital, and my normal doctor checkings, and other stuff for free.

But thanks to the fucking slut of our prime minister Anders Fuck Fjog Fogh Rasmussen, we are really dropping in every chart imaginable , be it either schooling, education, or for that matter social stuff.

This government the Danes have right now is a fuckedup rightwinged son of a bitch government, and the Danish social democratic party in Denmark is really becoming a kind of Labour party, in a bad way.

I have never in my life experienced more scandals from the government, or for that matter the grand industry with bad food, salmonella in all turkeys we get in the cooling boxes n Netto (a part of Danish Super Market owned of course by Mærsk McKinny Møller), I think you all have seen the name Maersk on containers.

Denmark is bonkers at the moment. because of our stupid, and imbecile government.

And you can´t cut taxes, since then the money will be taking from other places.

Heck, the worst has not even been told yet, a nursing home, who had problems thre years ago, had yelled help back then, and now the people who are working there has been pushed into even more turmoil, like they are rude to the people who live, there, and alot of other stuff

Sorry if I hurt anyone, but at least I am showing the truth in what I say. And I have always been honest about my country.

An extra edit is allowed I think, in the May June period I found out, that my economy was low (eviction low people) and then I got the information from the bank, that I hadn´t got my pension, for three full months, and my municipality hadn´t payed me a dime at all. Then in the end of the former month (June) I wrote a letter to my municipalitys pension office, since I knew, thanks to bank record, they OWED ME MONEY (alot of kroner to be exact !), and then I called last week my caseworker, and asked, and so forth, and she said, that the money was coming, and yes at last after three FUCKING months I got the money they owed me, and well that is how much shit I was in, but I sure damn hope, that those motherfuckers never again. Will get wise arse on my behind. Since I know when they have made a classic case of fuckupness. And well I did even get yelled by some bitch when I called, and asked politely about my money and all, before I wrote that letter. That came to this conclusion, that they owed me money.

And well I got a letter from them today, saying "we have looked into your case, and we have put the money in the bank".

And not even a simple "we are sorry some motherfucking slut bitch yelled at you".

So now you know, you got to grab those in power by the balls, and have evidence up on till their fucking head, before they move in Denmark. And none has yet won over the state of Denmark in a case where it was a Dane, against the state of Denmark, to mention a few cases I am thinking is, "The Thule Case" (what a lovely airbase...) and "The Bleeder Case" where people who were haemophiliac got AIDS, because the stupid Danish state hadn´t screened the blood, they made the medication from. And the only thing the state did, was saying "sorry people, but we gave you AIDS" (I know this is more ironic, but it is true).

Denmark is complete utter bonkers. That is why I fight for the socialism in Denmark, since I am not moving, and I welcome any one to get a fun experience in Denmark, as long you can behave.
