At the moment you can get games for free you mean? Just because a game has been ported to the emulator doesnt mean its the same game and because you claim to own a 10 year old version of it mean its not illegal.

And please stop double posting there is an edit button you. Please use it.

what if there's life in space? O_O

At any rate, Wii's price will be better for sure (Based on currency conversion rates) on the other side of the pond, so 200 Dollars may it be, it's still cheaper than any price they'd throw at us here in the old continent. That said, i don't think anyone would mind a 170 pricetag either - 170 is very very attractive, especially for a home system just out of the door. Hell, I'd get two of those to match my living room and one for the kitchen:p

On the topic of hard drives, nintendo is known for their custom ass-tight solutions, so I wouldn't jump the gun on supporting unnoficial hardware for the wii - That's why the whole "Nintendo Seal of Quality" crap was placed there in the first place.

Actually, owning a cart does make possesing a rom legal.
You purchase both the physical materals that make up the cart and the licence to play it.
as long as you're not using both at the same time it's perfectly legal.

Also, they've never claimed to PORT these games. in fact, it would be prohibitivly expensive and time consuming.
Emulation is far more viable with a system of this power.

The fact is, if it can emulate(and it can, it has the power, and every system has workaround of one kind oor another ti make it run things it's not designed to. People run emus on Dreamcasts and XBoxes all the time), people WILL do it and WILL break the law and download games they do not own.
    Nintendo is aware of that.
The makers of the GP2X are VERY aware of that, and built the majority of their marketing and such around it.
I was saying they're likely hedging their bets. It's good business sense in todays climate to focus more on compatability and hardware profits VS hoping to make more money on game sales VS console(the old way).

Reading too much into my posts is never a good idea. I'm a very literal thinker. I mean what I say and no more. I also have no idea what anyone else would read into what I say. It goes with the territory of autism.
So, I'd appreciate no inferrence on things I say in the future if at all possible. It'll only lead to more confusion on both our parts.

It's probably a formatting or chip issue, as it DOES say USB hard drive.

    What??????

"I was going to reply the new kid,"
GOD, this is why I hate forums with post counts. This scenesterism starts IMMEDIATELY and 'newbies' get ignore and belittled until they hit some unwritten 'high enough' count.

I thought a place where GEEKS gathered wouldn't be likely to PESTER AND BULLY. Thought you might know what 'benefit of the doubt' meant. Guess I was wrong.
Guess I can't be part of the 'in croud.'

So, you can feel self important all you want in here.
i'm gonna go back to ILG.
And actually PLAY some video games.
I'd go out and talk to REAL PEOPLE like I do most days, but I have pneumonia.

Actually, it does not. A simple reading of the laws in question will tell you that.

Owning a cart makes it legal for you to dump a copy of the ROM yourself and use it.

Downloading and using a copyrighted ROM file that someone else has dumped is infringement, even if you own the original cart.

So no, no one was assuming anything when piracy was mentioned. If you're gonna describe piracy don't be suprised when someone here calls you on it. ;)

No your wrong. As you will find in the post above this. Wait why is there two posts by you again?!

Well if you paid much attention you would see its not coming from someone with alot of clout.

Please do. I asked you once not to double post. To use the edit button to make one single post. You seem to have no care for forum etiquette or to what the moderators ask you to do.

That depends on the country. In the US you can do it legally, but AFAIK not the UK ( and I believe Europe ).

Hacking the Wii code won't be legal though, because you would have to break the DMCA to do it.

What is your problem? I called you "new kid", not n00b, not newbie. Shit, in the IGN boards I'm sure someone would just say "stfu fagg" since they are sooo gentle there.

Now, I called you kid becos I dont know your age, plus maybe you're not aware but in this area the oldest guys are 30, so the rest is 20 or below. But if you want I can call you "old guy".

And I dont give a damn about rank, nobody here does, you can discuss with anyone, even a moderator over a legitimate issue, but dont expect your rank to help you in case of trouble.

Now when I warned you about this subject was becos theres a long history of endless discussions in this forum about Roms and emulation, so its kinda pointless to start all over again.

    So, are we cool?
