Well it's more oo-er then hoo hoo hoo. Most of these games are hentai games, but was there any other reason to own a PC in Japan? :icon_bigg Anyway here is my PC-98 game collection. Simple overview of the collection. The collection in more detail so you can read the box names (assuming you can read Japanese of course or they are in English). Does that character on the Teen box look kind of fimilar? NEC PC-FX owners playing a certain platform game might recognise her. Good thing about the PC-9821 is the fact that notebooks are quite cheap and you can run up to Windows 98SE (PC-98 version) so you can use it as a real computer (of sorts... powerful enough to run Openoffice, run IE6, run Real Alternative so you can listen to BBC Radio), even play Windows game, can even install DirectX 8.1 on it if you so desire, although the fastest PC-9821 was only 300Mhz) and PC-98x1 games. Also the PC-98 versions of the games are much cheaper then their FM Towns counterpart with most having no difference, I got most of the above for about an average of 300Yen or so a game. The first game had the video as a bonus, the second game I bought after I had the book, and noticed it was similar after. Doom 2, nothing different from the PC version except it has more graphics options and more sound options, one of the few game that can use the PC-9800 Sound Blaster 16 card that creative made (smart move that was....). The J-League soccer game is sealed and is (drum roll....) by Krisalis (not too bad either). Briganty is a good platform game. Star Platinum is a Hanafuda game by the same people that brought you Chip Chap Kick and the last game is the obligatory Mahjong game. Next I'll post up my Mahjong arcade PCBs, bet you can't wait.
Did you ever have the chance to play Rude Breaker? I'd be interested in some reports Also pretty nice collection for one who understands the language. Whats that "X-Girl"-game about exactly? Also "Web no Arashi", is this kind of a cyberpunk adventure maybe? Or a cybersex adventure with stormy lovers? ^^
Not played Rude Breaker, as I only play games I own. The X-Girl game is a cyberpunk digital comic game (with large amounts of SM overtones...), has pretty linear gameplay and can be completed in 2 hours once you get an idea of how to play the game (mainly clicking on the screen and looking at objects), you can play the game even if you can't read Japanese. ウエーブの嵐 (ue-bo no arashi) is a steamy game where large blokes run around a field and try and score against the other large blokes. (it's a J-League football game... no sure if you were being sarcastic or not. )
Ok I though the エ was a small one so it would have been "web" instead of ueebo. No sarcasm there though, only my humble Japanese reading skills  That X-Girl game sounds interesting though^^
Yakumo : Are you saying I'll go blind playing these games? Maks : Indeed, some of the games have great diskette covers as well as other gubbins to make them cool, although the prices of these games did vary from 3,800 to 19,800 Yen new (yes that is nineteen thousand, eight hundred yen). Gaijinpunch : More or less, having problems with some of the games not liking Windows 98, some don't like MS-DOS 6.2 and some require tweaking for memory. Some of the games are dire and I won't play again but some are quite fun. Doom II, Briganty, Star Platinum, Jan Jaka Jan, Wonpara being favourites.
I wouldn't buy one of those games if they had sunfade... You know, in that cases... It might NOT BE SUNFADE... EDIT: What the hell, it's me or I've read the kanji for "child" in the pink spined game at the top left of the first picture?
once the games is installed on the computer they probably never touch the box again... The kanji for child 子 (ko) is a common word in a lot of womens names. So Mahjong Saiko is basically a Mahjong game featuring the women character Saiko... Although I'd be more worried about the games on the far right called Teen and Girl...
Can't decide what sounds better, Teen or Girl... heheheh ;D Maybe you can tell us a bit about whats inside your Teen and Girl.... games?
Manual and Discs mainly. Although the Teen manual has Chip showing you what you shouldn't do the the poor discs.
You don't know what lolicon is or how friggin popular it is in Japan, do you? BTW...Jamtex, could you get in really big trouble over there if one of those wasn't censored? Japanese censoring is an absolute joke, but can't you get fined if there isn't one teeny weeny black bar through some "things"?:icon_bigg EDIT: Speaking of Hentai games, I've played a few that I got from a torrent site, and they really really bored the crap out of me. They could have been crappy, but I don't know. Its like, you have to do a lot of work to see some still picture. I saw some animated GIFs from some with animations and thought they were pretty good. Jee, it sure is getting off topic around here. Sorry.
I JUST noticed that you put Text on the pictures...dark text on dark images...because that's logical... I dunno about the rest of you guys...but I personally wouldn't be too proud of an immaculate porn collection... Just kind of comes off as... nevermind
